“wonderful lunch on a rainy day”
Reviewed April 12, 2014

Small place with friendly personal service. Perfectly cooked tuna and some very tasty octopus ink tagliolini.
Even fussy children enjoyed it. Well worth a visit.

“Top experience in local restaurant”
Reviewed February 21, 2014

As La Salamandra has only some 8 tables we stumbled upon a full restaurant in the evening, so decided to return for lunch the day after. We made the right decision! The food was delicious (grilled cod and vegetables), the ambiance perfectly OK and the waiter very very friendly! Whenever I return to La Gomera I will certainly eat at La Salamandra again. I saw some other tripadvisors complain about the time it takes to have your diner served, but at lunch time is was no issue whatsoever. Oh, and the white house wine we drank with the dish was also quite good.

“Delicious palm honey”
Reviewed February 14, 2014

We sat outside here and had lunch, it's in a little pedestrianised side street. We had a tradtional dish whereby fried battered aubergine slices are stacked up with salt cod puree inbetween the slices and a drizzle of the local speciality 'Miel de palma' on top, which was big enough to share and delicious. Afterwards I had a black olive foccacia with goats cheese, oregano, olive oil and tomatoes on top, which was O.K. but nothing special and my partner had tuna covered in black sesame seeds with potatoes.

“Really refeshing experience...”
Reviewed February 5, 2014

... especially for those who want to take a break from Canarian and Spanish food or try some new tastes. Not very cheap but offers a really creative choice of fusion dishes. We had meats, fish, soups and everything was very original and tasteful. Classy choice of wines.

“Superb local food”
Reviewed February 2, 2014 via mobile

This is a small restaurant - only about 8 or so tables - but what food! The service is slightly slow but that's because everything is cooked to perfection. There is quite a fair selection on the menu for such a small restaurant. Well worth eating at, at least once during your stay in La Gomera.
