Fantastic position overlooking harbour, the hotel was spotless, you must treat yourself to a meal in Resturaunt excellent cuisine.
Explore the hotel and grounds you keep finding another room with a view or corner of the grounds to sit and relax.

This was our first visit to the canaries and also to a Parador, we weren't disappointed on either count. Getting there is easy with flights to Tenerife South, and then the boat from los cristianos to san sebastian and a 5Eur taxi up to the parador. We got a good deal using the '5 night card' offer on the website which gave us room only for just over 500Eur, then paid for the subsequent 2 nights, overall saving us about 500Eur on the 'list price'.

Rooms are spacious, we didn't have a balcony which was disappointing so if it bothers you make sure you ask for one. Also most rooms are twin rather than double. Beds are comfortable and bathrooms big.

We ate at the Parador for three nights and ate out the rest of the time, food in the parador is good and we had excellent service. Wine list also good. Compared to local prices food is expensive but arguably worth it for the location.

The pool is very good, nice pool bar which does lunches and breakfast from 1030 (if you aren't paying the 17Eur for the hotel breakfast!). The only criticism would be that the barman goes awol at times which is annoying! Sometimes I think the whole place was just slightly understaffed but it kind of reflects the whole relaxed ambience of the place.

We hired a car for a day which was fun (arranged by the hotel for us easily), driving here isn't for the faint hearted, the roads are steep and winding and it's quite a tiring drive around the island although pretty. The town of San Sebastian is a short downhill walk down from the parador and has some lovely restaurants that are definitely worth trying for both lunch and dinner.

Overall highly recommended.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view and a balcony

Booked for 2 nights and flew in from TFN. Sea view requested, opened window shutters - no Sea View - despite the "Bell Boy's assurances. No alternative room, available. Dinner from 20.00 (well when in Rome). 40 minutes to take an order - despite ordering drinks none for a further 20 min. Food OK to average but quality did not match the price. Not an experience I'll be repeating despite the "nice" gardens

An amazing situation in deed the views are impeccable & the sunrises/ sets just amazing
A wonderful treat ... The food was nice but wasn't hot enough & we could only get twin beds .. But apart from that The charm & its historic values were idyllic.Watching the boats coming in but a bit of a hike down to the town , a glass lift down on the outside would probably make this place perfect ....
Would stay in other Parodors for sure

Excellent location, in an old monastery. Serene atmosphere.

The warm wind is omnipresent and makes this place unique. Situated on top of a cliff 200m above sea level is a guarantee for en excellent view over the harbour, the city and the inland mountains.

Strolling through the gardens of the Parador is already worth the visit. The only drawback: breakfast, not much choice and not a good value for money, you can however order breakfast in your room at no extra cost.

The menu in the restaurant is OK but if you only like 2 things on the menu you'll only go there twice as the menu did not change during our stay. Excellent choice of local wines!

No one forbids you to buy local food and have a cheese, bread and red wine dinner outside your hotel room in the unique atmosphere that makes La Gomera so special.

We used the hotel as our base while discovering the island with a rented car.

Hotel staff is very discrete and very helpfull.

We'd go there again for sure.

Room Tip: Any room will do.

Don't let my title confuse you. This is a modern hotel with beautiful views of the bay. Rooms with all mod cons, mini bar fridge and safe. 10 minute walk to the town, take a taxi back (uphill). Probably best suited for persons with a car. However we didn't have one but we managed fine. This is our first visit to a Parador and we will return.

We have visited the other 4 Paradores of the Canary Islands (Gran Canaria, El Hierro, La Palma and Tenerife). The one on La Gomera awoke the greatest emotions inside us.
The location of the hotel on top of a steep and rocky cliff (overlooking San Sebastian) is spectacular! From the moment you enter this 40 years old property you can feel that it is a very special place. The furniture is wonderful, architecture is wonderful, the gardens are wonderful!
Staff at reception is very efficient and friendly. Staff at the bar and in the restaurant as well.
It is such a nice experience to have a nice dinner in the patio - one can relax as much as hardly anywhere else on the archipelago. The gardens are huge, there are wonderful plants and flowers. There is a big pool with lovely views over the port. Deck chairs and umbrellas could be exchanged in the near future, they disappointed me a bit...
Our room had a magnificent sea view and we enjoyed 4 very quiet and relaxing days on this beautiful, rocky island. Furniture was old and traditional as one can expect it in a Parador. We loved it! The bathroom was ok but could be improved. Lack of kleenex, it is a detail but yes, I do expect it in a 4* hotel. Room service was efficient and very friendly, food is excellent and the way it is presented is 5 stars! We intended to stay here for 2 days. Then we extended to 3 and then to 4 - just because it is a lovely place to stay in harmony and peace! We would turn back at any time and it was one of our favourite hotels during our trip, visiting all the 7 Canary Islands and staying in 15 different hotels.

Room Tip: Upper floor with sea view
