“Great location”

Not an hotel for older folk, you shower in bath with no handrails. Toiletries are not replenished no matter how long you stay. There are few staff about the palce and the building is not so comfortable, wi-fi only at the front door. Pool outside unheated and cold in winter. Having said all that the setting is really lovely pity the hotel does not match up.

Room Tip: Select a room with a view out over Tenerife. Ground floor rooms can have fellow guests walking past...

this hotel is probably the best base when touring la gomera for a couple of days. if you want to go to a tourist spot then maybe Valle Gran Rey is a better option, or if you want to go hiking for several days there might be a closer option to the forest, but for general driving around and getting to know the island, this is a very good option. The restaurant is good, very big servings so plan on sharing or have only one course. The rooms are ok except no wifi (free wifi at the beautiful hotel patio) and occasional bad smell coming from the drains. We complained about this and were told that it had to do with the low tide affecting the hotel drainage system. The garden is beautiful and the pool looked nice although I think since it is at the top of a hill it can be quite windy. I highly recommend renting a car when visiting la gomera, long windy roads make taxis expensive and inconvenient.

Stayed here for a birthday long weekend - the flowers and champagne that we pre-ordered was in the room when we arrived. Very nice room with great immenities. Balcony and unobstructed view to the ocean, was much appreciated. Beautiful inner courtyard at the hotel steeped in history.

La Gomera is a nice place to have a quiet get-away - from beaches to incredible mountain vista's and driving through ambient fog.

The Parador had a nice and quiet location out of the main village yet was still within short driving distance to restaurants, beach and shops. A hire car recommended to get to the village and also to tour the lovely island.

Pool area has a great view to the ocean, a small bar (not open when we were there as it was off-season - February) and ample seating areas. Garden was lovely to walk around and nicely designed. Public areas had unique and beautiful achitecture.

Restaurant - lovely venue but the food (dinner) was underwhelming and quite pricey. Breakfast was nice and had a good selection.

Staff were friendly and always welcoming.

Highly recommend La Gomera and the Parador as a perfect location for a quiet getaway with your loved one. Don't expect a huge nightlife or shopping experience - but if you love nature, the ocean, and historical buildings, La Gomera and this Parador, the place for you.

Room Tip: Choose the cliff-front rooms with terrace area - admiring the begonia's and ocean view are secon...

Beautiful old-style building, as mentined several times in other reviews. Pool is nice but cold. The patio at the bar is very windy. Breakfast is very good. Rooms are good, roomy, comfy, good shower. Diner is not that great. Tried is only once, the other nights we went to town. There are plenty of small restaurants, where you get better food for half the price. It's only 10 min walk down, 15 min back up, as the hotel is quite high. Free wifi works only in the lobby area.

Spent a relaxed week here in April. This is a characterful old building with an atmospheric open courtyard. The staff, with one disappointing exception, were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is an extensive buffet but the food in the evenings was no more than ordinary: quite a disappointment in a hotel of such quality and San Sebastian offers few alternatives.

Room Tip: We had a very comfortable and quiet room with sea view but would recommend an upstairs room with bal...

Stayed here for 3 nights in March. Really lovely hotel, stunning building and grounds and great breakfasts. Staff mostly good apart from a man and one of the women on reception - totally charmless and should be moved to non customer facing roles. Pool was a bit chilly, but great for doing lengths and stopped it getting too busy! San Sebastian nice town, not really geared up for tourists, but that no bad thing. We were doing some serious walking so suited us fine, but the island is v low key in general regarding facilities for visitors (which I liked), but might not suit those who are not as active - walking is definately the main reason to visit, and lots of good ones within driving distance to the hotel.

If trying to find a negative, would only be that the Parador is slightly dour - not in the same glamour league as La Residencia in Deia, but a few candles around the place could sort that out! Generally good value for money

Room Tip: Almost all rooms seemed good from the plan, and most face the sea. All ground floor rooms have terr...

My wife and I spent a week in this lovely Parador overlooking the small town of San Sebastian de la Gomera. The Parador is a beautiful old building which unlike so many has not been altered and added to so retains its charm. Our room had a balcony overlooking the sea, was a good size and with the exception of a slightly overfirm bed was faultless. The breakfasts were first class and the dinners were of a high standard. Some of the reception staff were a little bit dour, but on the whole the staff were friendly, very efficient and helpful. A decent sized swimming pool plus well tended gardens rounded off what made for us a perfect short holiday.
