Owner description: Oasis Park Fuerteventura If you visit Fuerteventura and don't discover its Oasis you will miss out on a major part of its charm. Located on the south east coast of the island, Oasis Park Fuerteventura is a beautiful must-visit nature reserve. It is an 800,000m2 area sheltering and protecting its flora and fauna, home to over 3000 animals of 250 different species, containing a unique Botanic Garden with the largest cactus garden in Europe. The park has four LIVE spaces where you will be able to enjoy live educational sessions with parrots, sea lions, birds of prey and reptiles, with valuable information from their keepers. Entertainment guaranteed! Furthermore, you can have the unique experience of direct contact with lemurs in the Madagascar area, sea lions under the water and even a spectacular trip along the coast on a camel. These will be moments that you will never forget. Oasis Park Fuerteventura, in addition to being a place for entertainment and fun, is an entity dedicated to developing preservation, education and research projects for flora and fauna, such as those for the Cuvier's gazelle, the African elephant and the Canarian camel. Thanks to the work of the latter, it has the largest camel reserve in Europe, and research is currently being carried out on the health benefits that camel milk offers humans. Open every day of the year, it includes 3 restaurants, a children's play area and a farm with domestic animals. A free return bus service collects visitors from different points of the island.

“Good value full day out”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2014

We are an animal family even with a teen, so we're keen to try this.

Absolutely loved it. Free bus from the hotel took about 30 mins if you are in the south of the island as we were. Well laid out to provide plenty of shady cover, excellent sealion show and great opportunities to feed giraffes, elephants, zebra and camels.

Food is ok value for this sort of venue, but if you can take a packed lunch from your hotel and only buy ice cream or a coffee, even better.

Our teen did the camel ride while we drank coffee. He loved being alone on the lead camel - king of the camel train!

For me the best bit is that they work to rescue apes, a real passion for our family. Yes a few of the enclosures could be slightly better, but given many of the rescued animals were previously in dreadful surroundings, eating rubbish and not at all cared for, the work the park does is extremely valuable.

And special mention to the sealions who seem to have such great relationships with their trainers. We watched both shows, which was good as the second show included the slide and diving board. It also provides a good under cover break when legs begin to tire.

We loved this and would thoroughly recommend.

“Something to do with the kids”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2014

We had a nice day at Oasis Park with plenty to do. We were quite surprised by the entry fee, it seemed a bit steep and they would not accept that 2 of us are seniors without photo proof. Luckily my husband had his driving license with him but I had nothing as we don't carry our Passports around with us, so that was a bit annoying, it's not the money which is only a 5 Euro saving it's the fact that they don't believe what you say. I consoled myself with the thought that they obviously just could not believe that I am 63! Result! The sea lion show was really good if a little short, we took the jungle bus to the birds of prey show, well we thought we had - the bus drops you off a short ride away but the rest of the journey up a steep pathway to the site of the show is on foot. Had I known about that I wouldn't have bothered neither would the other guests struggling with infants in pushchairs. When you get to the top there is very little shade with half the seats on level ground which impairs the view of the action. The show started 15 minutes late and finished abruptly about 20 minutes later, so unless you are particularly fond of birds of prey and a challenging uphill hike I would give it a miss. The parrot show was good fun but again rather short. We paid extra for a camel ride which was good fun and a first for most of our party. There are lots of animals to see and you can buy reasonably priced animal food to hand feed some of them, we enjoyed feeding the giraffes the most! There are plenty of places the eat and drink all reasonably priced. All in all a nice day out.

“The best zoo I've visited”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2014 via mobile

I took my children to oasis park while on holiday on the free coach from out apartments and I have to say it's a really great day out for 2 adults and 2 children it cost €132 including camel rides
It was worth every penny
We chose the mountain camel ride which was about 35 mins really enjoyed the views and the ride up the ride down was a bit bumpy and my son said he felt "camel sick"
The zoo was great managed to see every animal they had and touched quite a few they sell bags of animal food at the gate and it tells you in the bag which animals you cant feed.
They have shows on at different times we managed 3 the birds of prey the seals and the parrot show we missed out in the reptiles which was a shame
There's plenty of shade around and some beautiful plants and cactus gardens
It's quite a long walk around so make sure you have comfy shoes in the heat
There was a play park and a children's section where they could feed most of the animals
Overall we had a fantastic day and would recommend it to anyone that loves animals
Great day out.

“Unique experiences to be had”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2014

We booked our tickets online before we went to save time and money, which worked well, but remember to take some ID with you to confirm your name etc. There were lots of animals to see, and certainly enough to do to fill a whole day. The sealion show was a highlight, and my son had his photo taken with a sealion kissing him, which he loved. We did the camel safari which was well worth the money as the safari took about half an hour. Feeding the elephants, giraffes and camels was great too. We chose a cooler day to visit which was a good move as it would've been hard going to do a full day there in the blazing sun. The free bus service is excellent - it took about 45 mins from Caletta de Fuste, but on a straight road so no worries about travel sickness! Really glad we went, great day out!

“Nice to go if travelling with children”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2014

Fuerteventura is not a place where you go to visit historical cities on specific landmarks, mainly you go for surf, relax on beach/pools, but if you travel with children after some days - also if sky gets a bit cloudy... - you have places to go and oasis park is one of them.

Closed park, a bit expensive for what you expect in spain (you will pay more in any other country but you expect to pay less in spain for this kind of attraction) but worthed for children. Lots of animals, nicely maintained, many shadows to get some break from sun (when hits, hits hard in Fuerteventura) and good experience.

Also surprisingly you can eat very very very well on their restaurants, much better food I ever tried in Eurodisney or PortAventura. Is a nice surprise, and all of us (10+ people) enjoyed the food also at excellent price!

Worth a visit with children
