“Lovely hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 23, 2013

This is a lovely hotel, it does take 50 mins to get there. Very clean hotel. Rooms were excellent, full kitchen including microwave, hob, kettle, toaster and fridge. Separate bedroom to sitting area, both had TVs. We asked to change rooms as there was no bath and we have a 2 yr old. Decent hair dryer good size bathroom. This was done with no problems. Food was very good lots of choice for everyone. Buffet style and they do show cook so you now it's fresh. Hotel has a supermarket behind and a short walk to the beach. Pool area was fine, childrens play area suited older children. Very nice hotel all round staff were very good. Only one fault if you could find something to moan about , is the paths around the garden are very uneven.

Room Tip: There are two floors. We preferred 2nd floor which all have lift access.

Just returned from this hotel with my husband & our 6 year old son. We couldn't find fault with it. We stayed in one of the apartments on a self catering basis. This was cleaned everyday with fresh towels. We ate in the hotel 3 nights & were very impressed with the variety & quality of the food. The pool area is lovely & clean & a good size. The staff were friendly & very helpful.
The only downside is the putting out of towels to reserve a sunbed. (although this probably happens everywhere!) Despite there being a sign up requesting you not to do this...every morning all sunbeds were covered in towels well before 9am despite some people not returning to them until late into the afternoon.

Just returned (20/07/13) from this hotel & we had a brilliant time. I'm not easy to please but this hotel, its staff and facilities were absolutely fantastic. The food was fresh, plentiful & varied. My son isn't the most adventurous of eaters so its always a worry but we found something for him every night. There is every meat, veg, fruit etc you can imagine & the staff work their socks off to ensure there is a full supply of everything and it is spotless. They open cook everything fresh in front of you and honestly, if the food here isn't good enough I don't know what is. They will even be flexible if you have HB but fancy eating out, they'll swap your evening meal for lunch.
There is a lot of staff at this hotel and without exception, every single one of them will bend over backwards to help you. The pool is quite big and deep (in places) so just be careful with the kids but there is a lifeguard on duty for peace of mind. The entertainment team also work hard to keep everyone entertained. Loved the Supremes Tribute night - especially when one of the band came out and sang AT my hubby - he was terrified! ha ha The other great thing about the entertainment here is you can take it or leave it eg - if you call it a night you can't hear the boom boom of the disco or loud pa system. The First Choice Holiday Village is just down the road and you can hear them in the street outside! Great if that's your thing I guess. The other thing that is usually a gripe but not in this case - there are plenty of free sunbeds! It was getting quite busy when we left so it was refreshing not to have to lay on the floor with the towels!
Picking spots the air-con is just about sufficient, noisy and could be better and the beds are very hard but really picking spots here.
There is a bus stop bang outside the hotel which will take you to the beautiful old capital of Citudella (well worth a visit) for a couple of Euros each and its a 10 minute walk to the gorgeous Marina. Also - the bar and snacks etc are very really reasonably priced.
Small things like always making sure there is toilet roll in the toilets make a big difference. Thanks to the management and staff for its attention to detail and great customer service. All-in-all - a fab hotel and place with wonderfully friendly people all round in Menorca.

just returned from a wonderful 2 week holiday in the sun, 2nd visit to the hotel and as I always look at reviews I thought I better write one myself, this hotel must have the best grounds in menorca, very big pool large childrens section and a little paddling pool as well. there is also a second pool with a waterfall.there are large areas around the pool with lots of sun lounges which you can get at any time of day even tho the hotel was full and a fresh pool towel every day if you wanted just ask the life guard. it has a massive garden area to sit in which was lovely and really relaxing and out ways any thing negative any one can think to write.staff were helpful on the front desk and were really lovely in the pool bar and in the evening they really made the holiday special for us.
the hotel is a little further away from the marina than some of the other hotels, but in my opinion by far the best location even better than the 5 star one, it was very quiet you could hear a pin drop at night slept very well, its near the nicer beach out of the two, its a nice pretty and classy part of the resort. the marina is nice to go to in the evening for a drink or just a walk there are some great places to eat which we did a couple of nights when we swapped dinner for lunch. u can get different boat trips from there which we did last year the one where u see 16 beaches and stop at one for a swim is great the sea is clear and warm.
the rooms are clean and has a mini fridge is very useful and don't get in many hotels and ive stayed in a few 5 stars. I think for a posher room u really do have to stay in a lot more expensive hotel plus u only sleep in your room after all, bathroom was fine no problems there.
plus tv was a brilliant I could watch emmadale each night! sad I know!
entertainment every night some nights more for children other nights they had some great singers on. the ponies for the children were lovely. the food was some nights better than others but I am a really fussy eater there was always lots of fish sea food, chicken, pork, steak and much more as well as lots of veg, salads potatoes, chips and pasta every night plus lots more. I think if you look for faults in a hotel u can find them but theres is nothing wrong with this hotel at all to stop u having a wonderful time, I really wish I was there still. by the way the pool wasn't freezing at all, pools are only cold when its a cold day late 20Cs and 30sC its warm and I think it could of been slightly heated as well.the only thing that would be nice would be to have fresh juice in the mornings instead of what comes out of the machines. coffee was really good tho. I will return to this hotel in the future.

Stayed here in June with my wife and 3 year old daughter. The hotel itself is lovely and clean with lots of things going on to keep everyone entertained. The swimming pool is the biggest I've come across and again clean!

Food was lovely and always plenty of choice, pork served a lot but that is the same in most hotels I've experienced.

Staff - now this is where this hotel is let down massively! First of all the entertainment team are great and do a fantastic job and are extremely friendly as are the hotel reception staff. The staff in the restaurant aren't friendly except for one waitress and the bar staff at pool bar and evening bar are even less friendly with the head bar man trying to rip me off one evening short changing me late in the evening presumably thinking if I'd had a few drinks I wouldn't notice so check your change! The maids in the hotel do a good job cleaning the rooms but again they are so unfriendly, walk past them in the corridor and they don't acknowledge you, after trying to say hello a few times and getting grunts in response we gave up!

Location of the hotel is great, out the back is a few restaurants, our favourite was the 'why not bar' and a few shops along with a beach which wasn't the best as was very rocky - not suitable for young children!
The walk down to marina took 15 mins although the paths aren't suitable for wheelchairs or prams as very bumpy! Down at the marina there are so many restaurants to pick from with a few shops! Goody goody park I thought was a let down and didn't seem very safe, would be closed down in England!

This was our first visit to menorca and although it was quite we had a lovely time and would return to this hotel!

Our first visit to this hotel and im afraid we would never return as for us it was just not 4 star. Don't get me wrong some parts of it are but we felt on the whole this was more a 3 star hotel.

The pool area is lovely but the Pool was freezing cold and we found the staff in the poolside bar very rude and ignorant unless you tipped them but I decided not too as there service was poor.

The entertainment staff were always busy but we had a 2 1/2 year old and apart from the pony rides on Wednesdays there was nothing for him really unless we stayed with him all day in the kids club. The on site bouncy castle was broke and when asked when would it be fixed the staff told us it probably wont be. The mini disco lasts for 35 minutes and starts at 9pm and as the hotel is the furthest away from the marina your left in limbo really. Some of the entertainment was good though I must say.

The room was ok but the beds very very uncomfortable. The TV has no English channels and the air con was very temperamental. But it was cleaned every day and fresh towels if you needed them.

Reception staff were very nice and helpful and a couple of the waiters in the restaurant were nice but the rest especially the bar staff were very rude and ignorant.

The restaurant is far too small for the number of guests and breakfast especially was like a stampede and standing in a que of 10 people for the 1 toaster was not my idea of fun. The food was always hot but just bland and boring and the set up was very strange as you had fish dishes next too chocolate spread and butter with the fruit etc etc. The restaurant staff tried hard to clear your table but most meals we had to do it ourselves which we didn't mind as there was only 3 of us.

We had an evening flight back home so after leaving our room at 12 we were given access to the complimentary room to get ready and shower etc. Basically it is a toilet with a shower in and it is right next door to the toilets and the restaurant and only 1 person at a time can use it definitely not 4 star standard and to be honest just topped off what was a really disappointing stay for us at this hotel.

There is a lovely on site shop where you can get most things and the staff in there are very nice and we hired a bike from them and the prices are very reasonable. Due to the poor food and lack of entertainment for our son we spent most nights down at the marina where there are plenty of restaurants and of course Goody Goody land which is fantastic for kids but make sure you have plenty of spare Euros for the machines. The walk down takes about 15-20 minutes but there is a bus every half hour if you don't fancy walking.

No more than a 4 out of 10 from us but could be so much better.

The hotel overall was lovely, The room was a good size, very clean and comfy. I stayed half board and thought that the food was very good with a wide range to choice from. However restaurant staff were a little slow and one morning left us on a dirty table, when I asked if they could clear it and provide us with clean glasses the waiter walked away and never returned(perhaps he didn’t understand). The entertainment was great for the kids and there was even activities for all ages such as football volleyball ect. . We loved the temptations tribute act and had some wonderful nights there. The pool was brilliant and clean however if we did want a towel it was a two hour wait which wasn’t ideal. But overall we will definitely return and had a wonderful holiday!
