Recommended length of visit: More than 3 hours
Owner description: No matter whether you are a resident or a tourist, trips along the south coast of Menorca, as well as its views, are wonderful. The route starts from Ciutadella’s harbour at 10:00 a.m. We are going to sail around the west and south coast until we arrive at Son Saura’s beach. Where you will enjoy from a virgin beach with fine sand and crystal clear water. From here, it is possible to walk through "Cami de Cavalls” till "Es Talaier", a small beach beauty without equal. Meanwhile, lunch will be prepared: paella and sangria will be ready at 13h. In the meantime, we’re going to cook a “paella” and some drinks as “sangria” (spanish popular drink, a sort of punch: lemonade, orangeade, red wine and liqueurs) and orangeade. We’re going to have lunch about 13:00 p.m. Immediately afterwards, we’re going to visit Es Talaier, Macarella and Macarelleta beaches, some caves andunknown places. In the afternoon, we’re going to stop in Cala Turqueta beach. There is nothing to equal it! Right there, you’ll be able to take a bath on the beach or from the boat. And an hour and a half later, we will take our way up again towards the nicest places. Arrival at the port of Ciutadella is scheduled at 5pm. And we are confident this will be the best memory of your vacations

“Good value trip”
Reviewed May 12, 2014 via mobile

We had the happy chance of being two of only 8 adults on the boat at the time we went, which made such a difference to our experience. There was plenty of space and the staff were excellent. The first beach did have a funny smell on one side but a short walk round the bay on the other side of some rocks was another small beach which was lovely and good for paddling and swimming. Not much to see in the water though at this stop. Back on the boat we had the paella lunch that was very tasty and authentic, and sangria, which we would have liked more of and a bit more of a constant supply - however I imagine that would not be practical with a full boat and they just follow the same procedure when not full. A couple of times the staff came round with a small taster of cocktail which was unexpected and very welcome as it was nicely chilled. At the second stop my partner and I were the only two to choose to swim off the back of the boat which was great as there were plenty of fish about and one of the staff threw in some bread so we could watch the fish go mad eating it! We had a really good day and it went by so quickly, however I can well imagine it would be a different experience had it been busier. If we were to go at the height of the season we would probably pay more to go on something a bit smaller.

“Failed to meet our expectations”
Reviewed September 17, 2013 via mobile

We found this boat trip to be somewhat disappointing given what we expected. First of all, we were quite shocked to learn that the boats have up to 250 passengers on them...so it was not the tranquil ocean cruise we had hoped for. It seems that a lot of the people on our boat were from nearby all-inclusive resorts, as large buses shuttled them all in. Finding a seat on the outside of the boat was near impossible. The boat actually only makes two stops for swimming - you simply sail by the other beaches. In retrospect, we would have rather paid a bit more money for the shorter catamaran trip, as it is much smaller and makes similar stops...likely would have felt less sardine/mass-tour like.

“What A Disappointment!”
Reviewed August 27, 2013

This was an awful trip - we turned up expecting a proper pirate boat (as we have bene on before in other places) but it was a tiny pleasure boat with a rubbish half hearted attempt at making it look like a pirate trip (a flag, a spongebob squarepants rug and some pirate t-shirts for the staff). Awful day - the 'boat trip' only lasts about half an hour before you get left on a horrible beach for hours and then take the half hour same trip back. The 'pirates' did not look or act like prirates and the 'entertainment' was a joke. The beach was horrid not very nice sand and loads of seaweed and some sinking mud/sand which a few people's kids got stuck in!

The food was awful - take your own if you are mad enough to go on this trip! There are drinks and ice creams available to buy if you want them though.

I cannot think of anything nice to say about the day other than we had lovely weather and saw some nice coastline and fish - could have achieved this on any other boat trip or by hiring our own - would not recommend for any age - all are guarunteed disappointment on some level!

“Nice Boat Awful Beach Trip”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

We booked this trip through our First Choice rep. €32 adult and €16 children. Nice boat plenty of seating on top deck and nice to see the South and West coastline of Menorca. The theme of the trip is the Pirates of Menorca. Face painting and childrens entertainment during the sailing. After about an hour we arrived at what was billed as the 'best beach in Menorca' it was far from it. The beach was strewn with seaweed, as you walked closer to the water you walked through 1 foot deep seaweed. The sea was awful it stank of sulphur from the seaweed, not nice to walk on not nice to swim in. 3 very disappointed children and 4 disappointed adults who were looking forward to the 'best beach on Menorca'. The children then played pirate games, there were too many children playing these games and boredom soon set in to those who were out of the game early. A treasure hunt followed, again too many children and boredom set in for those not at the front. They all got some sweets though for finding the treasure.
The tour guide tried to say the seaweed was from the storm the night previous but there was enough seaweed higher up the beach to show its a regular occurrence.
I would not recommend this, I found a better beach with nicer sand and water just 5 mins from our appt at Arenal de Castell.

“Good but too crowded”
Reviewed August 16, 2012

When I read the reviews and saw the webpage I thought was a smaller boat. Arriving there, I got really surprised with the line, about 250 persons waiting to get in the boat.
Even though the most places are in the closed part of the boat, there is a few places to sit upstairs ( that seemed to be nice), but the boat that I took there was no places to seat on the front of the boat. My friend got really sick with the waves and we had to sit on the floor in the front of the boat in the way she get better.

The food and the drink they served on the boat was great.

The overall experience was good, the beaches are amazing , but get too crowded when we arrived . I think I would go again only if it was a smaller boat.
