“Local clientele but tourists always welcome”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 12, 2011

I visit Menorca regularly and very nearly always go to Pa amb Oli (literally Bread and Oil). The menu is Menorquin but the food and cooking is excellent quality. The chef cannot get away with much because he works in a glass box behind the bar. They really cater for the local people and lunchtime often sees a crowd of locals at the bar, business men having lunch with clients and tourist families.

Families are welcome and the waiter will always try to help in his best broken English.

Of particular note is their escalivada which although simple is about the best I have had. The menu is broad enough to cater vegetarians and carnivores alike. The food is good and homely.

The television is frequently on for sport but with the volume turned down.

“Delicious Leisurely Lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 23, 2010

Visited Pa Amb Oli on 10th September 2010 and was very impressed.

On approach you'll probably wonder if you're at the right place, but don't dare walk by. This isn't a place designed to pull in tourists, if you weren't looking for it specifically you'd never find it!!

Ordered 3 starters, and then remembered too late the reviews on here said they were massive.

Pa Amb Oli with Chorizo
Calamari
Menorcan Ham and Cheese

All 3 were delicious and my 4 year old and 1 year old loved them. We then had a grilled seafood platter between us and again it was superb, although a bit more langoustine and a few less cockles wouldn't have gone amiss.

Bill for 3 starters, seafood platter, 2 beers and a couple of soft drinks came in at 72 Euros, well worth it. Highly recommended, you'll struggle to keep the kids away from the tank with the shellfish in it though.

“Tipical Menorcan specialties, not only for tourists...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 17, 2010

We have been to Pa amb Oli several times, last year and this year in summertime, very good and reliable Menorcan traditional food, not only for foreign tourists but also visited by Menorcan & Spanish people.
Do not miss "chipirones" and "pimientos padron", and of course all grilled meat specialties!!

“Be warned before you enter”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 6, 2009

There is a notice on the door stating that smoking is permitted on the premises.
We found enough nuisance from those smoking outside other restaurants to even think about entering this one.
