Es Grau is a great place to stay if you're looking to get away for some peace and quiet. In the village itself are about three places to eat and drink and one small shop for essentials. The wide sweep of sand that separates the lagoon from the sea is never too busy and the great thing about the sea is that you can paddle out for a very long way whilst still being able to touch the bottom. This makes it great for the kids.

Excellent maps and information were provided by the kind lady in the information office. The site is well signposted with good views of the inhabitants of this important site.

Es Grau is a small town near Mahon on the road to Fornells. There is are a few small restaurants near the water and one in particular does plain local fish, unfortunately I cant recall the name. You will know if you have found it by the waiter who is a lad about 18 and very grumpy. Maybe it was just the last time we were there because he gave the impression that he didn't want to be. Lovely grub and a lovely spot to sit outside.

Just a lovely place-should be kept a secret really, but too late for that! The locals obviously take great pride in their village.
The beach is sandy and the waters shallow & calm for swimming. Great walks around bay, on Cami de Cavalls and into the Natural Parc Albuferia (beware of midges!) Leaflets on routes available at Albuferia centre and tourist offices.
There is the ES Grau bar which is right at the waters edge at the entrance to the village where you get a warm welcome and a nice place for a drink, but food just basic.(seasonal)Then there is the Can Bernat bar which serves great tapas & fish, if a little overpriced. This is open off season and the owners are very friendly. The Es Moll bar is at the far end of the village, also on the waters edge is very popular and serves fab food.Try the mouth watering fried fish (seasonal opening) The restaurant on the beach, Tamarindos does not open until May, so cant comment on that.
In peak season there are boat trips and kayak hire available at es Grau & a little supermarket
Great for walkers, birdwatchers, cyclists, swimmers and those simply wanting a quiet few lazy hours visit.
