Just returned from a two week stay at the Belvedere (last week of August first week of Sept). Very nice 3 star hotel, lots of different nationalities stay here. Staff very friendly and helpful. We were allocated a room on the 6th floor, overlooking the pool which we were very surprised as it did appear you had to pay extra to get a pool view. The room was rather small with twin beds, a wardrobe built into the wall and a TV. Small bathroom as well, but everything was perfectly adequate. Large balcony and nice view of both pool and mountains and sea in the distance. The lifts are a bit of a pain as others have said, they are small and do get very busy. I would not have wanted to have been on an even higher floor than we were, having had to take the stairs a fair few times in our stay! We hired a safe as we always do for peace of mind. We also hired pool towels which was really expensive as you actually had to pay for them, as well as put down a deposit. All the other hotels we’ve been to we only had to pay a deposit which you got back at the end, and occasionally you had to pay a few euros if you wanted a change. It is really costly. We had basically shelled out 100 euro on the first day after getting both the safe and two towels. You also had to pay for wifi although we didn’t bother. The restaurant seemed rather small to me, but we always found a table quickly. There was not much in the way of food choice, but always found something to enjoy. I don’t know what they did to the bread at the hotel, but it was rock hard both inside and out. Very strange as they had a large oven on display in the restaurant, so assume the bread is baked on site.
The only self-service drinks (in both the restaurant and the rest of the hotel) are soft drinks, you have to go to the bar for anything alcoholic, which was a bit of a pain as there were then always queues. It would be better if they made the beer and wine self service, as I’m sure this would help with queuing. In the inside bar in the evening there were two people behind the bar serving, but the man would very frequently disappear to the end of the bar to wash up glasses etc, so then it was just one person having to dish out all the drinks, and the queue never stopped.
We had pizza almost every day in the late afternoon from the pizzeria (open from 1 – 6.30) and found it to be very pleasant. You were allowed two slices each per person, and they also have beer, wine and sangria taps there. We did try the snack bar a couple of times and the food was nice, but we were put off by the massive amount of wasps which converge all around it. Not sure what the hotel can do to combat this really, although clearly it helps if people actually put their plates etc in the bin and stop leaving them lying around! The snack bar is all made to order (hamburgers, hot dogs, toasted sandwiches) so again queues are long here. The lady behind it works like mad, so quite frankly I don’t blame her for not being able to stop and chat, or smile at everyone. After the snack bar closes (at 5), she then goes to the pizzeria to help over there! Long day. The pool was lovely, most days it was a great temperature, although when we jumped in the second to last day it was absolutely freezing for some reason! Quite deep in most places, so not so good for non swimmers. No sunshades at all, but lots of grassy areas with trees for shade. Plenty of sun loungers, had no need to get up at the crack of dawn to reserve them. Loungers were plastic so very hard to lie on, we just bought lilos from the shop and put them on top, problem solved. We had lovely weather mostly, although for four straight days it completely hammered down with rain, which was really depressing. Was too wet to even want to go into town really, so just hung around the hotel. They opened the inside bar and the entertainment team brought out darts and shuffleboard, although really there was too many people to play.
The courtesy bus to Palma Nova is a great addition by the hotel, it takes 10 minutes to get into the town and runs every half hour, so we were able to quickly jump on it first thing, get a few bits from town and then be back at the hotel in no time at all on the last day. We did go into San Agustin a couple of times, both down the hill and down the steps of doom which was a bit of a trek. We then discovered some more steps which we found slightly easier than the steps of doom as there were more breaks in between. Go down the hill first to the Blue Bay Hotel, and you’ll see some steps right next to it. Keep following those down and eventually you’ll come out on the same road as the other steps take you, but a lot further down and much closer to the little beach which is in town, if that is where you are headed. We went to a little bar overlooking the sea a couple of times for a glass of wine, large measures and only 1.50 a glass. Cheaper than in Palma Nova. No English speaking staff. Think it was called Keyo or something similar. We went on one trip to the aquarium which was great. Had a lovely meal in the Neptune restaurant there. Transfers to the airport only took about 15 minutes once you got going. Entertainment team were always around, working hard, but cant really comment on the activities as was too busy sunbathing to join in! All in all had a lovely holiday and would return to this hotel.

Just returned from a week at this hotel, the hotel is very clean, pool area is very good, the snacks served around the pool area are lovely, restaurant food not great but never really is when you go buffett style but you will always find something to eat. if you are looking for a lazy family holiday and not intending on going outside the complex you will have no complaints.

Room Tip: Stayed on the second floor with a lovely pool view. A/C is very good

We are currently staying at this hotel and if we had the money too go elsewhere we would of gone days ago! Where too start.... When we first read the reviews on here before we left for our holiday we thought it may of just been people being fussy but now I can truly say, hand on heart, that you couldn't even pay me too stay here. The food is sooooooooo bad. There is only something for everyone if you have no standards. We leave the hotel every morning to have a coffee elsewhere in a lovely little shop in the town called Zhero because even the drinks are dire. Quite often on the way down we have seen people walking back up too the hotel after having breakfast somewhere else. The food is the same everyday with a slight variation on what 'sminge' it is floating in. The staff are rude and obnoxious and unhelpful. They treat you like you are a commoner staying in a 5 star luxury resort. The pool is open late and closed early. The only 1 thing about this place that is slightly redeemable is that the rooms are clean. That is all. I cannot think of any other bonuses. People are queuing for the first bus out of the hotel every morning and now I can see why. If anybody says this is a hotel worth paying for and going back too then they are wrong. If it is cheap and seems too good too be true, when it comes too this place it almost certainly is. When you get on the transfer, just don't get off at this stop.

Room Tip: Go somewhere else

Just got home from a week in the belvedere, the hotel is very clean and fresh towels are provided every day, the pool is large which is a bonus as the pool area gets very busy during the day but there's always plenty of room for a swim, food and drink is plentiful if your all inclusive and especially useful are the self serve soft drink machines which provide Pepsi and 7up on tap without the need to queue, the rooms are small but comfortable enough and the air conditioning is fantastic.

The only negatives were the hotels location, it's basically in the middle of nowhere and you'll need to get a bus or taxi to find a decent town or nightlife and the night time entertainment which can only be described as awful. The young reps do their best to put on a show each night but you will find yourself sat in the outside bar most nights away from the main bar so it's worth taking cards or games to pass the time.

All in all this hotel is very good and is more than worthy of 4 star status, if the evening entertainment was improved I would definitely return.

arrived at the belvedere hotel about 3am and very tired, on the 29/8/12 speedy check in. their were 8 adults in our party
our rooms were very clean and adequate for our needs.woke the next morning, had a lovely breakfast.POSITIVES.this is a lovely hotel extremely clean, staff are very friendly, fantastic pool, loads of sun beds, absolutely no need to get up at the crack of dawn for a sunbed:) good size kiddy pool
beautiful well kept gardens.large selection of all inclusive drinks BUT BEWARE staff serve EXCELLENT MEASURE,S.plastic cups around pool area(a very good idea) and serve drinks in glasses inside hotel.pizzeria snack bar excellent, the other snack bar (ok) burgers, chicken nuggets, hotdogs, chips, salad, but great toasties.you can help yourself to any of the
fizzy drinks or tea and coffee.rooms, great aircon, tv we had about 4 english channels, clean towels every day even tho we did,nt put them in bath to be changed, complimentary soaps, shampoo, and shower gel, great maid service.free bus to palmanova and the beach, last bus back to hotel 06.30pm
If you are after a chill out holiday and not wanting to do much then this hotel is a good choice
taxi to palmanova just under 15euro,s.local bus to palma 1.50.their are ramps in and around
hotel for the disabled, wheelchair,s pushchair,s and luggage. Also a luggage room and shower
rooms for guests checking out.THERE IS ALSO a disabled pool chair to get you in and out of
the swimming pool and a lifeguard.
negatives
food was a bit of a let down with the exception of breakfast.(but i am a fussy eater)
lifts were a bit of a nightmare
entertainment team friendly but could,nt put a decent show on if their life depended on it
found it very juvenile and absolute rubbish, which to me was a big shame,as the hotel is quite
isolated.
the nearest town with its few bars and shops has no easy access.ie,steep hill or loads of steps hardly no pavements on quite a busy winding road.so please think about your pushchairs, children, people with walking difficulties,or just coming back drunk?however we walked it one night and got taxi back for 4euros.we did,nt attempt it after that.
out of our 7 days we had 3 bad days of heavy rain and thunder storms:( and i felt the entertainment team let the guests down big time why could,nt they put some entertainment on
like a movie or a big general knowledge quiz, karaoke, anything?.
i cannot comment on the kids club as we were all adults but their seemed to be an array of activities throughout the day.ie,water polo, archery, volleyball, table tennis, aqua aerobics,
all the usual stuff.
we had a nice holiday apart from the weather.
hope this review helps
