Upon our arrival at Hotel Costa Azul we knew we had picked well! We had taken the advice of the hotel and chosen the local bus service (line 1) to transport us from the airport for 3 euros each.
Check in was speedy, the receptionist was lovely, and very helpful. Although we arrived 3 hours early (check in is 2pm) we were told our room was ready. We were delighted!
The room was trendy, funky, clean and had a free safe and flatscreen tv. The room was comfortable and functional and the power shower was amazing! I so wish I could have taken it home! The beds were comfortable with a choice of pillows.
We had chosen a sea view room, when we opened the doors we were blown away by the view. We overlooked the vast marina and had a perfect view of the famous cathedral, which was beautiful when illuminated at night. I do agree however with other reviewers saying ask for a higher floor, we were on floor 3 which was perfect for us, as this was the same floor as the pool (too small) and the terrace with sunbeds (lovely), but I think for the views to be the best choose floor 4 and above.
The traffic was apparent and caused my husband some concern but I slept through every night.
The location was ideal. A 20 minute walk into Palma town but with plenty of restaurants nearby.
We liked the new restaurant in town, Koa and also the cafe restaurant in the museum of modern art. We also walked for miles and hired bikes, safely riding the bike lanes into Playa de Palma, all of which I would highly recommend!
Enjoy your stay at Hotel Costa Azul, its not cheap but it's a fantastic hotel, the most desirable in the port area for sure.

Room Tip: Definitely pay extra for a sea view room! :-)

Stayed here as a single traveller for a long weekend to see the sights that Palma has to offer. I loved the hotel so much that I have just booked another long weekend in October to take my girlfriend (she couldn't make the first trip).

The hotel is very clean, modern and in an excellent location within walking distance of the Cathedral, old city, the Castle and the city centre. You can jump on a tour bus to see the whole city if walking is a problem.

The rooms are very comfortable, I was in room 400, and road noise was not very noticeable which for me as a light sleeper was good news. Bathroom was spotless, bedding fresh and clean, I also had a sea view and Cathedral view too.

There is a nice pool that was indoor but looked like the roof can be retracted in warm weather. There is also a nice sun lounger area if your lucky enough to have time to chill out and take in the sun, I unfortunately had to do my sightseeing and had not time for this - plus I was not too lucky with the weather which was quite windy and chilly in late February early March.

Breakfast was very nice, with a choice of hot or cold foods, including eggs in any way you care to have them, bacon, cereals, meats, fruit and all you could expect of a nice boutique hotel. Not for those who are used to all-inclusive and want to pile the plates like mountains, this is a far more classy place to eat. Note that breakfast is served in a larger restaurant as most guest would likely eat at this mealtime, whereas when I stayed the dinners were served near to the bar area. Dinners were from a menu that was left in your room each day, they varied quite considerably and didn't seem too expensive considering the rating of the hotel. Most people will want to eat out though and this is why I think they didn't open the main restaurant in the evenings. Don't know about lunchtimes as I was never in the hotel at those times.

The staff were very helpful and friendly, both in reception, the restaurant and the bar. Cleaning star worked hard and kept the room perfectly clean.

There are several bars, restaurants and shops nearby but obviously not as quaint as those in the old city. I did eat in one bar nearby on the first night, it was called Hogans, it mainly served burgers but they were homemade and excellent taste and value. You could get other chicken dishes, salads, lasagne etc. It served a purpose for me as I arrived late evening and was far too hungry to search for anything further afield.

All in all a perfect hotel for me and cannot wait to return in October.

Room Tip: Aim for sea view rooms higher than level 4 (400 series) as you will get a better view.

I have stayed here 3x to date and will stay here again! Great location. Clean and crisp hotel. Breakfast good. Indoor pool can get a little warm as under glass conservatory. Have done some sunbathing on the terrace or we take a bus to a gorgeous beach about 20mins away. Only criticism is that upon my last visit we had a rather small room.

Excellent staff...comfortable rooms....Excellent Location in the city of Palma De Mallorca.. Would prefer better timings for the pool and gym....Now it's only from 9 AM to 7 PM....Hotel is situated near good restaurants and the staff expecially Nuria and Luc can advice you on the good restaurants around...Don't miss Sa Cranca restaurant...

Room Tip: Ideally go for a sea view room....

We went here for a short break in March, 2014.... It is on the paseo Maritime, the so called boulevard, but with cars..... The hotel is pretty decent, receptionists very friendly and helpful. The bartender, David, is the best we have ever seen. We spend quiet some time with him drinking g&T......... recommend!

Room Tip: We were on the first floor..... it was fine......

Following other Tripadvisor reviews we chose this hotel for a 3 night stay in Palma and were pleased we did. Check in was very efficient and we got in our room straight away though it was just after midday. Room was nice (though hot - check the radiator isn't on). We had a Premium Plus room so had a great view of the marina opposite and of the cathedral in the distance plus a nice balcony.
Breakfast was very good. Nice food, plenty of choice. Though why they don't have fresh orange juice, as opposed to processed, in the land of oranges was a puzzle.
There is a swimming pool, pretty small, but unfortunately we didn't get to use it as for two days it was being maintained and on the third closed for a private party. There is also a gym, though you wouldn't know it as there are no signs and it isn't mentioned in the room guide. In fact it is accessed via the swimming pool terrace (at the left hand end) if you want to go.

Would stay there again.

Close to the city center, with a phantastic view over the bay. Blue sea and sail boats in the morning when the sun shines in. Nice modern rooms with balkonies for private sunbathing. Great breakfast. A minute away is Santa Cantalina, a chilling district with many great restaurants. Behind the hotel is the hill with Castle Bellver, just perfect for running a in the wood. Palmas live music locations are nearby.

Sauna costs 20 surprise euros, maximum temperature is 55 Celsius and it is not located inside the spa but in a miniroom at the first floor. The hotel should announce on the web page which services are charged extra. The swimming pool and spa area was more impressing on the pictures, the whirlpool is cold.

Will come back.
