We have just returned from the Costa Azul and loved it. We had a room on 8th floor so had magnificient views of the marina and the Cathedral which was just as wonderful at night (when the Cathedral was lit up). We ended most of our evenings with a night cap on the balcony to take in the views. The staff on reception and in the bar couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. The breakfast and bar snacks was good with plenty of choice. The bar prices were also reasonable compared to other hotels we have stayed in. We stayed B&B so ate out in the evenings, with plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance to suit all tastes including traditional tapas bars and The Hard Rock Cafe. The centre of Palma was a 15 minute walk away or 5 minutes in a cab at a cost of around €6. The area around the Cathedral was busy with plenty of tapas bars, although we didn't eat here so can't really comment on the standard or prices. Back nearer the hotel, later in the evening, things livened up for the younger generation with a number of late night bars opening their doors at around 10/11 pm. Something for everyone really.
The only negative points are that the hotel is a little tired and in need of a make over, the pool was small but more than adequate for cooling down and the bar closed at around midnight which, for us, was quite early. Despite these negative points I would definately return to this hotel on my next trip to Palma.

Room tip: Ask for a room on the 4th floor or above because they are set back further from the road.

A previous visit was during the annual sailing week and the hotel accommodates many of the teams. It was clear from this years visit outside the race week, that they up their game for the crews visit. The hotel needs a makeover as it is looking tired. The staff in the dining room are fine, but the staff in the bar are surly and unhelpful. Breakfast was fine however evening meals were over cooked and failed to match the description given on the menu. In addition the food was often only warm. A disappointing stay.

Room tip: Sea view on a high floor, but still too much road noise.

I have just returned from a weeks stay ending 6 Aug 2011, in the Costa Azul, and I really enjoyed it. The hotel is in a glamorous location opposite the marina and has stunning views from the top floors. Food was excellent at breakfast and at dinner - the soups were to die for! The bus-stop for Palma city and the airport are directly opposite the hotel and it is cheap to travel. There is a smallish pool but the sun-bathing decking area is good.
However there was no hair dryer in the room as set out in the advertisement for the hotel, and one had to pay 10 euros to rent the safety deposit box for the week! Generally, the decor of the hotel whist it is OK, seems tired, and in need of some attention and modernisation. That said I would always be happy to return here.

The hotel is clean. The view from the 6th floor is FANTASTIC!!! Take a room in upper floor to avoid noise from the road. Very convenient location. There are many restaurants next to thw hotel. Very good breakfast. The staff is OK.
negative points : charge for the hair-dryer!! charge for the internet. charge for the deposit box!! old furniture. the layer of the bed was very soft.
Generally, the view, the location and the breakfast are PERFECT!!!

The hotel was sometthing!!! but not the one in the pictures.. very neglected... i suppose for 20 years... the rooms were so depressing...the receptionists weren't friendly, and were just standing there behind the counter without having a share of hospitality. breakfast was awful. the swimming pool was so big !! approximately 8 meter squares... :))) briefly the hotel was terrible. the worst hotel i've ever stayed.... AND I WONDER WHO GAVE THOSE 3 STARS TO THAT HOTEL.. DOESN DESERVE EVEN 1 ....
