“Great location for old town.”
Reviewed September 13, 2010

Set in the quaint old streets and handy for shops and restaurants. Mallorcan style with a Sound of Music convent feel to it. Pool small but pretty. Rooms cleaned fastidiously. Seemed to be the same woman who booked you in, cleaned the room and made the breakfast. No reception as such but bell to ring for her. Speaks only a little English so whole place feels authentic and rustic. Recommend you eat breakfast out as was very slow service. Hotel handy for the No 3 bus in front of C&A to Illetes beach which is a nice cove with one or two laid back cocktail bars. Takes 25 mins to get here but Palma beach itself wasn't bad at all really too.

The hotel San Lorenzo remains a quiet little hidden gem in the middle of the Old Town in Palma.

The rooms are kept clean, charming and comfortable. The A/C works! The little pool is great for a middle of the city retreat. Close to everything and a great staff.

Beautiful traditional hotel in a perfect location in the old part of the city. San Lorenzo is 5 minutes walk to the marina and to the cathedral and an 8 minute walk to the shops. There are good restaurants nearby. The hotel itself was very clean with an extremely pretty pool area. We stayed in Room 6 which was lovely with 2 bathrooms, a good size terrace and steps down to the pool. The hotel is an old building and the steps are steep with no lift. However, this adds to the charm of the place, providing you are reasonably fit. Breakfast was good and could be taken in the small restaurant/bar area, round the pool or in your room. It took us a couple of days to realise that we could have anything provided we phoned and asked for it. There was always staff available but not always visible so you have to ask for service. There is a bar in the hotel but this is never staffede however, I am sure if you wanted a drink in the evening, you could call and a member of staff would serve you. All in all , a great experience!!

We stayed for four nights in early May. The pool was a bit chilly still but the area round it sheltered and warm. The staff were unobtrusive but very helpful and pleasant. The hotel is converted from an old house and so the rooms are all individual. There is lovely fresh juice and plenty of choice for breakfast. The location, on a quiet side street, is ideal for exploring Palma and there are plenty of places to eat within walking distance.

I looked at this again as it featured in Majorca guide book as top hotel. Well I can't see it's changed much, if at all, since we stayed there. What a horrible experience and one of the worst hotels I have stayed at. As an example the hotel talks about a picturesque lane at the rear where the balcony overlooks. What they don't say is that it's extremely busy and faces nightclubs and the smell of urine is bad. Some may enjoy the experience but we didn't.

We stayed at the San Lorenzo for 2 nights. It was kind of a self-service place - staff was not visible at all times, the lobby was usually unmanned, and the bar was always empty. We didn´t go for breakfast because we found it to be expensive, and it wasn´t included in the room price. Try for the rooms upstairs near the pool, which is a great place to relax. Our room was clean and nicely furnished, a good size. The bathroom was quite spacious. There is no parking, street parking is limited time-wise and hard to come by, so we parked our rental car in a nearby garage for a whopping 40 Euro a day!

WE have just returned from 3 nights at this delighful hotel .I was a littel concerned as I had read very poor comments the day before leaving .However we were welcomed warmly by the owner and a newly appointed Italian manager who spoke excellent English and couldnt do enough to help us during our stay .

The room was warm and comfortable with all the ameneties we required .

It was very convenient for resteraunts and shopping and sight seeing .

Being in the centre of the old town of Palma there was a little out door noise but only what you would expect .

There are quite a few steps to the rooms so would not be suitable for people with limitted ability .

We would definately stay at the hotel again when we return to Palma. and would recommend it to any one wanting something a little more intimate and special
