“What a delight”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 9, 2012

This was my idea of a true independant boutique hotel. I travel around Europe and hope to find little places of joy like this. The staff are private and just friendly enough without being gushing. The lobby is an oooh moment with art and design being an interesting mix. In a small lift up to my room on the fifth floor. City view from the window but no noise to worry about, slept well with a window open too. Great shopping, and even more places to eat, found some authentic tapas just round the corner. Fitting for a discerning bit of a grump like me. Want to go back and will come up with an excuse to do so.

Location excellent. Rooms spacious, clean and modern. Staff efficient and breakfast is fabulous. There is some criticism from other reviewers about lack of views from the rooms. This hotel is in the middle of the city, not on the coast or overlooking a park. The dining space for breakfast is quite small but we loved eating out on the pavement cafe especially at the end of October!

i must admit this hotel in the centre of Palma is almost perfect it is extremely busy with nine floors and sixty plus rooms, half have balconies in the front, the others face a wall in the rear,we at first were put on the ninth floor, we did request a high floor but with no knowledge of the hotel, thinking the higher the better,as to the noise factor,WE were wrong, there is a machine on the roof working all night (air conditioning??)We tried to move ,but it took two nights before the staff at the front desk could find us a much lower floor.Once this was succeeded,a good nights sleep was almost obtained, the rooms are spacious with a large bathroom,we still faced the wall, but unfortunately the air conditioning in the room was noisy and had to be switched of until it got too hot,by opening the smoked glass window this solved the problem,Breakfast is very good but busy, the tables are close together, outside sitting is available..Having been in Palma many times the restaurants just off Jaime II street are very good with the Tapas still very popular, the Colmar outside the Palace Hotel is worth a visit ,we have been going for about forty years,The old town behind the Cathedral is also a good source of eateries..weather in October is perfect for non sun worshippers average 70s. Advice mid floor with balcony best buy.

Room Tip: around 3/4th floor front with balcony,it may result in an extra charge???

Perfectly situated on the hill behind the Museum of Modern Art and Cathedral. This place is a real gem. The restaurant provides fine dining in an eclectic chi-chi atmosphere at a very reasonable price. The staff are a credit to the establishment. My only warnings are 1) Time your breakfast carefully since given the popularity of this place you may find yourself midst a stampede! 2) Check your room - I was given a corner room on the first floor and unfortunately I suspect the main soil pipe was behind the wall in the bathroom so each time anyone flushed / washed etc. I had to contend with the whooshing and gurgling (through the night).

Stayed for 4 nights and had a wonderful city break. The hotel is ideally located for the shops, the old town, the promenade and all the sights were close enough to walk to. We had been torn between staying here or at the Hotel Tres but were glad of our choice as Hotel Jaime III is in a quieter and more relaxed part of town than the Hotel Tres (which had a few rowdy people outside who had spilled out of bars in the area). Our room was very spacious and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was very good with plenty of it and was served from 7.30 until 10.30 which allowed early starts and the occasional lie in.
We also enjoyed a nightcap at the hotel bar after each night out; we sat outside and it felt very safe and welcoming. All the staff were helpful and accommodating and the rooms were all spotlessly clean. We had a late flight (leaving for the airport at 10 pm) and had checked out in the morning - the staff were great, they looked after our luggage, and when we eventually returned allowed us to use their facilities and arranged a taxi for us to the airport. This hotel is not too big to be impersonal but large enough to allow privacy. We were also lucky with the weather with the sun shining every day which you don't expect in October.

Just back from a week's stay at Jaime III and we loved it! It's every bit the boutique hotel our research on Trip Advisor had suggested.

We arrived an hour early but were checked in with no fuss. Our room was a triple room on the seventh floor and the only slight disappointment was the view - the scruffy back of an adjoining apartment block. However the delights of the city were literally on our doorstep, so the view from our room was soon forgotten.

Breakfasts were excellent - I'd read that they could be a bit of a bun fight - but as the hotel wasn't full, we found it busy, but well worth it. The set menu available at lunchtimes was also excellent - but we were out and about so much, we would have personally preferred it had they done something similar in the evening.

I tend to find hotel bars quite impersonal, so instead we went to a nearby bar called Ginbo - the G&Ts there were a bit pricey, but something else.

We'll be back sooner rather than later. Palma's a great city and Jaime III is a great base from which to explore it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at Jamie lll. The hotel was very modern and clean and the rooms were very comfortable.

Our room was at the back of the hotel and the window looked at other apartments but we were only there one night and so it was not a major problem. We did see other rooms at the front of the hotel which had a balcony and much better views. Superb location for visiting central Palma.

Parking can be a problem as the hotel is central and in the meter zone. There are underground car parks but these can be expensive, particularly if the vehicle is left overnight. We read a review that suggested parking outside the meter zone and taking a bus or a taxi to the hotel which is much cheaper. On street parking just beyond the new conference centre was within easy walking distance for us along the promenade but we didn't have much luggage.

Wifi in all rooms and excellent breakfast included.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front of the hotel have better outlook.
