We have stayed here many times over the last 30 years and recommended to family and friends. So sadly arriving for 5 nights yesterday Sunday 3rd February we were very disappointed that the room was the sane as 4 years ago but with threadbear carpets, tired furnishings, and sad bathroom. Shower control had a bit missing this morning and no hot water! So I didn't have a pre breakfast shower! And we are here until Friday! we are on the third floor so view ok although requested highest I think there is so much work going on higher up this is as good as it gets! As always lovely outlook a d great breakfast but would have appreciated being told work going on in hotel all day above so noise of work until 6 tonight!
Probably our last visit -sadly Palas Atenea.

Great outlook, convenient for airport bus and excellent breakfast. Nothing to fault at all. Excellent selection of restaurants in the vicintiy. Palma itself has enough to offer for a couple of days but can't think what you would do if there for longer.

the location is good but not for children. please make sure you have a side or sea veiw the back rooms are depressing !
The breakfast is good and so are the waiting on staff but reception staff are dire they seem to forget we pay their wage they are truly awful. this hotel could be good but needs a refurb as its tired .

Room Tip: no way have a rear room the outlook is not what you need on holiday

We stayed at the Palas Atenea for one night prior to a cruise. We were allocated a large room overlooking the Marina. It was a very pleasant room furnished to a high standard. Breakfast was excellent, everything you would expect of a high quality 4 star hotel. The location suited us down to the ground, lots of bars, cafes and restaurants with outside tables in the immediate vicinity. Perfect for people watching which we did till the early hours. If we were to cruise again from Palma we would definitely return to the Atenea.

Room Tip: Definitely ask for a room overlooking the Marina.

We, two adults and two small kids, stayed here two nights in November. They gave us a spacious and clean family room, no views over the marina though (my mom got a room with views over the harbour and she says it was beautiful to see the sunrise). The staff was very helpful and friendly, just to mention a detail: they brought some cookies and chocolate milk for the kids. Breakfast was included in our case, so I don't know the price, but it was excellent with plenty of good choices for everybody (special thanks to Juan Manuel who made us feel at home). Although as it is mentioned in other reviews, the location is good, we would have preferred a place closer to the centre or the beaches, since we ended up taking too many taxis. That's the only reason for us not to return to this hotel.

I purchased a room at this hotel on lastminute.com and only paid £82 a night for a double room. Breakfast was way over priced so didn't bother.
Lovely lobby area, with lovely bar and piano player of an evening. Very welcoming and helpful staff. And a very unique and interesting lift system, it's worth the stay just for that!!
The room was a reasonable size with huge comfy beds, only downside was 2 large singles pushed together to make a double. But they didn't split apart when going for a cuddle in so not all bad.
Location is very good with it being a nice stroll into the old town where there are some fabulous restaurants and bars, not too touristy either. The new town is a good walk away but lots of busses including the airport bus go past the hotel every 20mins or so.
When coming back late at night there are lots of bars close to the hotel for a night cap, if that isn't your thing don't worry you can't hear them and they're not rough dodgy bars or anything.

I'd definately stay here again.

We stayed here four nights in late October this year. Paid extra for view over the harbour, where you get sunrise in the morning...stunning. This hotel is somewhat dated and a little tired in some areas, but the staff are friendly and helpful so if you're only sleeping there then rooms are comfortable, although bathrooms are small. It suited our purpose of a short city break the centre being 15 minutes walk along the harbour front. We only used the breakfast restaurant once and it was adequate. Tip - if you sign up for the free Melia rewards card ( online and print it off) you get breakfast reduced by 50% to euros 9.50 !! We didn't try the other restaurants preferring to support local businesses.

Room Tip: Avoid the rear of the hotel if you can. Lower rooms are very dark - go as high as you can if you are...
