Great location, fantastic staff and not bad for lunch. Pavement cafe style frequented by a lot of German tourists. We met some really lovely people here.
The food is good but not great and there's plenty of it. This is not a fine dining experience. They have a lovely space outside , we returned again for lunch, but didn't stay because it's spoilt by a lot of people smoking.

Unbelievably there seem to be some pretty good reviews for this place, however I can only recommend it for the location, not the so-so Mojito they served me which I would best describe as - Meh.
This said, I'm glad we stopped by here. It was a diverting experience and Plaza Drassana is a nice area to waste 40mins in. Maybe Café Coto were having an off day, but the service we encountered here was truly awful. The owners are not going to like it, but here are the facts:-

- We ordered 4 drinks, 4 different main courses, with wine and bread.
- Only the 4 drinks came (mine was the aforementioned Mojito)
- After around 20 minutes, we were told they had no curry which meant 3 out of 4 of the mains were not available.
- The waitress then asked if we'd like to choose alternatives, as they had no curry.
- We declined as the menu is very short and consists predominantly of......you guessed it - curry!
- We asked for the bill for our 4 drinks.
- After a further 15 minutes waiting for the bill, ONE main dish was brought to our table.
- The waitress actually expected 3 of us to stay while only one of us ate. AND that we would willing to accept this AND pay for it.
- We found the service chaotic, rude, disorganised, ridiculous.
- There were far too many tables on the terrace the evening we were there, with no proper room for service or diners (our table for 4 was wedged up against a parked car)

Under the circumstances, I feel the least they could have done is knocked one of the drinks off our bill as an apology. We didn't ask, but they should have offered. I think the place is aiming for a Campy/Kitcsh feel, however - In my opinion, the place felt decidedly grungy, bewildered and un-cared for.
(Which is exactly how we felt after our experience)

We stumbled across Cafe Coto after a hard morning's sightseeing and shopping, and were attracted by the menu del dia and (extremely) bright decor.
The staff are genuinely friendly and helpful, and my vegetarian friend was delighted to find loads of choices.
For €10 we had bread and olives, a starter (salad or amazing soup), any main off the menu and a slice of cake.
We had a couple of beers, and coffee, and left very satisfied and with change from €30.
We liked it so much we returned the following evening for cocktails (amazing elderflower or aperol spritz for €5.50), and really enjoyed the friendly atmosphere, so visited again for lunch on our final day.
The staff couldn't be nicer, its very central, and all our food was excellent (red pepper soup, goats cheese salad, smoked tuna, and beef carpaccio were our highlights).
This is a proper gem, I will definitely go back.

We stumbled across this delightful cafe in a quiet square near to the cathedral on recent day trip to Palma whilst awaiting our flight back from Mallorca to Manchester. It was like an oasis in the desert on a very hot afternoon! The tapas was excellent, the service spot-on and the cafe interior was a real spectacle - very art nouveau and completely unique. Would recommend highly!
