“Mediocre”
Reviewed October 26, 2013

The downstairs vibrant area was full so we were seated upstairs. Comfortable enough but lacking atmosphere. 4 of us shared a number of tapas - interesting and different sounding on menu but unremarkable on delivery. If you do choose here as many people rate it higher than I do, make sure you sit downstairs.

“Average and unremarkable”
Reviewed September 24, 2013

We dropped in for tapas and a few glasses of wine on the basis of reviews that we had read on TA, but were disappointed. Initial impressions are good - the staff were attentive (although few seemed to be Spanish or Mallorcan) and the decor was pleasing, possibly even romantic, but let down somewhat by the childish cartoons of various fish on the walls. The tapas menu was short and predictable and when the food came there was nothing remarkable about the flavours either. To be fair there was nothing specifically wrong with the tapas - we got what we ordered and it was as advertised but it lacked the wow factor that you get in some of the better tapas venues in Palma. It is not somewhere we would rush back to.

“Very nice food, wine and pleasant service”
Reviewed August 26, 2013 via mobile

Dined here on the 25th August, the restaurant is very calming with good colours and good crockery, glasses.
We had the Gaspachio, followed by the suckling pig and the entrecôte steak all of which were very well presented and tasted very good. For dessert we had the pistachio parfait and the chocolate cake and were a good choice, both excellent.
The wine list is excellent and has a varied selection from most regions in Spain,we had a Rioja Alta which was great.
The service is great,if sometimes the staff seem a bit somber, this was a good meal and would highly recommend.

I was there by recommendation of the hotel. The only thing I can say it's "thank you"
I ate fish soup and suckling pig. Very, very good!

“Good food, but lacking soul”
Reviewed August 1, 2013

We went to La Bodeguilla on a Saturday night in late July, and had no problems in getting a table (admittedly, we were there before 9pm). It is a classy and modern place, like you would expect to find in larger cities across the globe. This is all fine and dndy, but the 'it'-factor seems to be lacking at La Bodeguilla. The service is quick, but somewhat too impersonal to make you feel truly welcome. The noise level is almost unnaturally low, giving the impression that people are somewhat afraid of truly enjoying themselves.

The menu consists of both tapas and regular mains, and the tapas dishes come in quite large portions, justifying the somewhat stiff prices. We started with he gazpacho, which was very good, in fact almost perfect (we are picky with our gazpachos, mind). We then shared a selection of tapas: iberico and mushroom croquetas (ok, but a blander than others we have tasted in the city, patatas bravas (good, but not spicy enough), and bread with tomato (a bruschetta/pa amb oli variation which was bland and left us unimpressed).

All in all, it was a good meal, but the least memorable of the ones we had in Palma, and there are plenty of places with greater charm and more exciting food.
