I am not very keen on all inclusive holidays I think which colours my opinion. Having said that the food was very good and the service efficient and friendly. The room was fairly basic but clean and comfortable. My issue here is the bed was far too small for two, especially given the temperature.

The location is excellent, right on the beach and with easily accesible vehicle hire or the public bus service. It is even close enough to the northern beaches which we could walk to.

If you are happy with an all inclusive resort then this one is worth a try.

We cannot fault this hotel. The apartments, set in a beautiful, shady pine forest are basic but we only literally had showers & slept in ours & it was perfectly adequate for these purposes. They are cleaned every day with fresh towels & sheets provided. They are spread over a large area so the ones near Reception were quite a distance from the Restaurant & beach. We enjoyed the walk as we're fit.
The staff were very friendly & helpful throughout - in the snack bars (especially Mercedes, Gala, Ivan, Gilbert) Tables were cleared & reset very efficiently in the restaurant (especially Carmen & Patricia) The food was of a VERY high standard at all meals - the best we have ever had - as were drinks & ice creams. They serve filter coffee with hot milk like Costas!
The Animation Team were outstanding - making you very welcome & informing you of what activities were on offer without being intrusive. We were the only British people there at one point so language was a problem but Jonny & Martina went out of their way to include our children. The shows the team put on in the brilliant theatre in the evenings were great esp Moulin Rouge - a very talented group of people who worked tirelessly all day & night to entertain you.
There were two swimming pools - a quieter one near Reception area & a bigger one next to the beach- both with plenty sunbeds.(No way of avoiding people putting their towels down & not using them though!) The beach was stunning & the sea was different every day with a flag system for safe bathing. Sunbeds & brollies very expensive here! (24-30 euros)
My husband went out cycling a few times - bike hire FREE - roads very busy so not for the inexperienced but a good way to explore the lovely island.
We just had the best holiday ever - it was perfect & we will definitely be back.
Thank you all staff at Club Maryland.

We had a really lovely stay at Insotel club Maryland. The food was excellent, so much variety and the sangria great! The rooms were like little apartments with nice terraces, they were basic but cute. The hotel itself is right by the beach, the location is stunning. If your looking for a romantic getaway as a couple, perhaps this isn't the place for you because it is definitely a family resort. There is loud entertainment throughout the day and also there's a kids disco at the pool bar in the evening....when my partner and I were wanting to watch the sunset together, not exactly relaxing! But overall, great place if your a family, but not for couples!

On arrival at Club Maryland we were shown to our accommodation and to say I was upset was an understatement.
The room was terrible, drawers broken, light fittings exposed, kitchen units in need of a complete overhaul ,television unit was chipped and broken
The bed was so small my husbands legs hung over the bottom. I do not know how First Coice has the gaul to place customers in a room that is not fit for pupose.
There was a long hike to get to the main facilities up and down a steep hill.
Please don't book this hotel if you have walking issues.
However the hotel staff were very good and Jonas the manager could'nt help us enough, together with the rep we were moved to another Hotel .This was like winning the lottery, a complete contrast to Club Maryland.

Room Tip: Try to get a room near the restaurant.

Just returned from our first all inclusive package holiday to Maryland, Formentera, and had the most relaxing enjoyable time. The accommodation which are blocks of appartments set in woodlands is basic but acceptable and the rooms are cleaned everyday along with a change of bedding and towels daily. The site is very quiet both day and night. All staff are friendly, helpful and pleasant. The food was absolutely mind blowing, the selection amazing and the quality on a par with the Hilton, Abu Dhabi. It is an ideal family holiday as children are well entertained and can roam around freely and safely. Most of the visitors are Italian with about 1% British.
Couples would be better off early June or September if you want more peace, but if you have walking difficulties then this is not a place for you as there is a walk to the dining area downhill and steps to the pool and beach. We are returning next year.

Room Tip: All appartments are the same.

This hotel was a great base for our holiday on Formentera. The rooms were cleaned daily to a very good standard and are in the "traditional mediterranean style" of white washed walls, red tiled floors and blue doors/windows. Fairly basic, exactly what you should expect for a three star. No Aircon but fans in living and bedrooms. We were all inclusive however the rooms did have a small kitchenette with microwave and fridge.

There was always a good choice of fresh food at meal times, with the name of each dish displayed in Italian/Spanish/English/German most of the time. Deep Fried cheese broccoli was a delicious surprise. Estrella beer, soft drinks, coffee and wine were all self service in the restaurant so there was very little queuing required unlike some other hotels.

All the hotel staff we encountered were very helpful and a great asset to this hotel. The animators were very enthusiastic and the guys at the watersports center were great.

The all inclusive service really was all inclusive when it came to drinks at the pool bar, international brands and huge measures, try a hierbas over ice.

You can get free mountain bike hire from reception including child seats and helmets. I wouldn't recommend turning right and heading up to La Mola, its a steep winding climb and does not have a cycle lane although it does have great views. Turn left and you can head towards some other beaches near Es Calo and San Ferran.

The hotel does need to put out more shade round the pool as if you get out mid morning all of the sunbeds with shade available are already taken. Also some trimming of the trees would turn some dark, shaded balconies around by giving them some direct light and sea views.

Room Tip: you want a room as close the the beach as possible otherwise you will have quite a walk several time...

You do need to bear in mind this is only 3 star and it was pretty much as we expected.
I cannot fault the staff in all areas, super friendly service, a real credit to the hotel, excellent service all round.
The location is lovely, bungalows set in a pine forest, but note these are not on the beach front, the bar, pool and restaurant are at the beach front, with accommodation set a little further back up a small incline, which is nice as it means most rooms are quiet, but it is a walk to the facilities.
The rooms are basic, but a good base, our first room was too noisy for us as it was by the road between another hotel, we asked to be moved and it was no trouble for the super staff and we were given a new much quieter room the next morning, the rooms are basic but do the job just fine.
The beach is lovely, some nice snorkelling over to one side, and fun was had at the pirate bus where lots gathered to watch the sunset.
There was a good selection of food, plenty of salad and fruit, not always to my taste, but always something to eat as a wide variety to choose from.
One downside was the lack of sun beds with shade by the pool, those with shade were quickly towelled up early in the morning (very annoyingly most not occupied for hours!) so a shame if we fancied lazing by the pool, but most days were spent on the fabulous beach.
Another small but minor niggle for british speakers was the satellite TV advertised, no english channels at all, but then we didn't come here to watch TV, so not a big deal for us.
There was a good mix of nationalities, the majority during our stay seemed to be Italian, we liked it, though it was a shame for our son as no other english speaking boys of his age at all to play along with, but he had fun anyway.
The entertainment staff are great, with lots going on for the kiddies, not so much for older ones/teenagers, the shows were supposed to be very good, but not being our cup of tea we did not go at all.
Overall a great holiday on a really lovely, still unspoilt Island, I would visit again.

Room Tip: ask for a forest side room if you want it to be very quiet.
