Silken Hotel Ciudad de Vitoria

Hotel was great and the facilities for a city centre hotel were adequate enough. Nice spacious, clean rooms. Stayed at the hotel due to taking part in the ITU LD World Champs so allowing my bike in my room was a bonus. WiFi access was OK. Was upgraded to 4th floor without asking so use of the facilities were also a bonus. Only problem was the city - very stunning location and the coutry side was beautiful but the eating facilities were very poor. Finding a decent restaurant serving hot food and fresh vegatables was near impossible. If this city is on your 'bucket list' then I would remove it. Although the centre was medievil and lovely, the evenings made some parts of the city look like East Berlin prior to the colaspe of the wall. Hotel great, location poor, very dissapointing.

Stayed at the hotel when taking part in the ITU Long Distance triathlon. Good quality city centre hotel. Great position within walking distance of all the main tourist attractions. Rooms were well furnished and good qulaity fittings. Hotel was very clean, staff friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast had good choice with hot option. Only slight negative no outside space to relax other than a few outside tables with the cafe. However probably expected in a city centre location. Standard wi-fi access provided free but you need to get a new log on every 24hrs.

If you want to use the gym / sauna worth looking at upgrading to a 4th floor room as you get use of facilities included. This may work out more cost effective than paying the additional daily useage fee.

Room Tip: See comment above re 4th floor upgrade.

We stayed here for our 15th wedding anniversary for two nights. On arrival the hotel looked impressive and once inside we found 1920's elegance. The room was lovely and comfortable and the bar was fantastic. Lovely wines and olives or nuts with every glass. We didn't eat at the hotel as we wanted to explore Vitoria - which is lovely - as we didn't have a lot of time there. Saturday night we found a tea dance in the park with elegantly dressed Spaniards waltzing to the band, we joined in too! Definitely a place to visit for the real Spain.

I stayed two nights for business and a bit of sightseeing. The hotel is known as Ciudad de Vitoria by taxi drivers etc, the Silken brand must have been recently added. I found the hotel layout and decor more elegent and stylish than expected, if not directly grand. The rooms was fine but more standard business type; it was very quiet despite a little traffic outside. The room did not have a iron/board, but the hotel did manage to provide in time for me. Generally the limited service I asked for was OK . I have forgotten the breakfast so it was hardly memorable, but probably quite OK (I do notice poor food...). I did not take other food there considering the many excellent options in town. The hotel is situated outside the historic city centre, it takes 10-15 easy minutes to walk in there, mostly through pleasant park/urban space. It took ca 20 minutes to the El Corto Ingles department store, which I had to visit twice. The town does not seem to have many hotels in the very centre, so I guess the location is one of the better ones. By the way Vitoris-Gasteiz is a really beautiful, green and interesting city to visit, and a proud reciever of the European Commission's Green Capital Award of 2012..

This is a great hotel and great value. Nice confortable beds and the service was incredible. We arrived late and had 4 children with us but it was raining so we could not go anywhere. After a bit skeptical to go to the bar, without option we had to have tapas dinner at the bar. It was wonderful and Tiago was awesome! They even made an exception to my 3 year old child who was sick and made a simple pasta for her at 11pm!! Congratualations Silken Victoria Hotel. Your staff made a difference.

After booking on the net for 5 nights at an average $71 AUD per night, my wife and I are driving down the street looking for the hotel, my wife comments "It won't be that one" pointing at a very stylish building. After driving to the end of the street and around the block, we realised it was "that one". This is a lovely, stylish and top quality hotel. Our room was modern and spacious, the bathroom great and an abundance of storage space. The bed was divine. Located near the park and very close to the heart of the city. Get's our full stamp of approval.

My wife and I just spent 3 days in this hotel. Our room was 440, with a view of the street. We had a very large and comfortable room, with a large king size bed. The location of this hotel is very good, in a new and upscale district of the city. The New Cathedral was 10 minutes away by walking and the downtown was 20 minutes away. The Fine Arts Museum was 10 minutes away. The hotel has a high atrium and the corridors of the four floors above the lobby open to the atrium so that the space looks very big and has good vistas from the corridors.

We had a junior suite at the corner of the hotel with good street views. There were blackout curtains. Across the bed was a wide upholstered bench for putting two suitcases on. In most hotels there is only a space to hold one suitcase and if you have another one, you have to put it on the floor. There were two comfortable upholstered chairs with a bluish-grey fabric. The glass top desk had many handy electrical outlets. The desk chair was also bluish-grey. There was a kettle to heat water and make instant coffee.

The carpet was blue and there was a modern painting on the wall and a modern sculpture on a pedestal at the corner of the room. The air conditioning control was easy. The headboard, doors, and bedside tables were in a light colored wood. There was a large flat TV and the close was large. The bedside tables had plenty of storage space underneath the tables. There was a small table that had the minibar.

The bathroom was large and there was a window that could be opened. The bathtub was shallow and it was easy to get in and out safely. The shower controls were easy. There was plenty of space beside the sink to store toiletries.

The breakfast buffet was very good and they had chorizo, baked mushrooms, and everything was labeled with the food name. There were plenty of tasty breakfast pastries. The restaurant was very spacious.

People at the desk and restaurant were very friendly.

Yes, I would return to this hotel if I returned to Vitoria in the future.
