The hotel is said to have a restaurant open for dinner all week, but it closes other than at weekends. Breakfast however is good. Location is 30 minutes walk to the city centre. Staff are pleasant and whilst the exterior of the hotel is well kept with adequate parking some of the rooms are small with uncomfortable beds.

Room Tip: Ask for a superior room, but expect traffic noise from the adjacent main road.

A little hotel, in an out-of-the-way place, with a refreshing difference from the run-of-the-mill type so often found. The rooms are very nice, some being converted from a stable block and the hotels grounds are well planted and laid out. Secure car parking is provided. It's basic, but very good value for money, friendly and good for a stop in Vitoria for one or two nights.

I was looking forward to staying in this historical monument, a beautifully restored 16th-century palace just outside of Vitoria-Gasteiz in a quiet area. The exterior was not as spectacular as I had imagined, but the interior is very charming and tastefully decorated. Done in dark wood, it has a very cozy feel. Our room for three was nice, it even had a partial wall between the double bed and single bed for privacy and the bathroom was huge. However, we could tell the room had not been vacuumed and there were only enough towels for two people. We were disappointed that their highly rated restaurant was not open that night, but they did direct us to a restaurant across the main street, just 2 minutes walk, which was excellent, and if you ask, they will give you a coupon for the restaurant for a special menu that is delicious and excellent value, that the restaurant will then charge on the room. When we returned from dinner we asked about towels and the night watchman, who had only been working there for two days, didn’t know how to help, he didn’t have keys to the cleaning quarters, etc. However, he did come up later after finding a towel somewhere. Where from and was it really clean, I wondered. We also needed help using the wi-fi and he also had to come and try and help with that although the wi-fi kept going off so in the end it was of no use. The next morning came the real challenge. We could not get the complicated shower to work, it had several sets of knobs for steam and massage sprays and there was no hot water. The water sprayed everywhere. The night watchman was still on duty and could not help. I just took a very quick shower not wanting to wash my hair in the cold water but my travel companions would not settle for that. After much complaining, the man finally called the manager and they let us use the hot shower in a vacant room next door. It seemed to me that they had not training this person thoroughly on how to handle these types of situations. Apparently they had sold us the room knowing it had problems since there had been another complaint about the shower from previous guest, the nightwatchman admitted. I agree with previous reviews, this place is great if you have a car because it is isolated from the city. They have a nice private enclosed parking and then it is an easy to drive into Vitoria-Gasteiz

The actual hotel looks beautiful, with a cozy back yard and good parking possibilities. Staff is great, helpful and friendly. Rooms are interestingly designed, however, our room reeked of tobacco, even though it was said to be non smoking.

The negative part is that hotel location is less than charming and pretty far away from the center of the city. Walking to town should take more than 30 minutes, taxi is usually required.

A nice hotel for a reasonable price with a good restaurant, friendly personnel, nice ambiance and private parking. Disappointing because of the very uncomfortable bed and disturbance by noise of the neighbouring room (love making and snoring). The prime goal for a hotel should be the comfortable rest of the clients; we did have little rest from little sleep and waked up with terrible backache.

The first thing why you go in a hotel is to have a good sleep. Well, the beds are bad and the pillows are extremely bad and small (it is true we did not ask reception for another pillow, but there were none in the cupboard). If you come by car it is OK, there is plenty of parking space. Since the weather was nice, we could walk to the centre, but it is a long walk. Staff varying, some not very professional, others (breakfast for example) extremely helpful. To come back at night you definitely need a taxi if you don't go by car. Indications by reception staff of how to walk not very efficient and the place is outside most city maps. First we were explained that we could also take a bus, but a few minutes later it would be too complicated, we might get lost. :-)
Finally, we got a very good price, around 75 € for 2 and good (!) breakfast included. I would only recommend this hotel if it is cheap. Vitoria is a nice city for 1 or 2 nights, off the general tourist track.
