“Nice stop on road between Madrid and San Sebastian”
Reviewed October 17, 2013

The hotel was a nice European hotel - wood floors, duvet covers, simple furniture. However, traveling with two children it worked well - they provided a baby cot and we were able to include breakfast with the room. Easy to find off the main highway and only a 5 minute drive to the center (historical) part of town. There is a shopping center within walking distance as well, although not much else (as it is more on the outskirts of town).

We chose this hotel as it is only 50 mins drive from Bilbao. Easy to find on the ring road and not far from the motor way. The rooms were very large with separate bedroom and sitting room which contained a full size extra bed. Small kitchen area with sink, micro wave and fridge which even included an ice box to re freeze ice packs for the ferry journey. There is secure free parking at the side of the main door to the hotel so not far to carry bags. The hotel is next door to a shopping centre and supermarket which was again convenient for supplies. Bus stop and taxi rank outside the main door of the shopping centre if you want to travel into the centre of town. There are numerous eating venues within the shopping centre . Clean and well equipped.

Room Tip: Pay for a suite with kitchen facilities .

As would be hoped from its 4 star rating, the rooms are spacious, comfortable and well equipped, but lacking in character as most modern hotels are. the buffet breakfast is plentiful with a wide range of breads, cakes, croissants, fruits, cereals plus welcome sausages, bacon and eggs. Beware though to allow adequate time for consumption, the food is cleared at 10 a.m. promptly. Reception staff were helpful and efficient. The hotel is located on one of the ring roads, adjacent to a retail centre, about 20 minutes walk from the centre of the old town which may be too far to consider popping back for an afternoon siesta.
We visited for the fiestas of the Virgen Blanca when Vitoria celebrates and they certainly know how to! A wide range of free events are provided going on to the early hours, and the bars/cafes do a roaring trade. Indulge if you've got the stamina, and observe if you start to struggle - either way its great entertainment. Traditional Basque dress was widely worn and activities such as pelota, wood-cutting, singing and dancing, giants, bands, processions, bullfights all made for a colourful and memorable experience.

This place depends on what your after.
The junior suite is real nice and spacious and very clean.
We was driving from Spain back to the uk do it was nice to get a decent room rather than the crappy motels you normally get on the side of roads.
We paid around £80 quid for the room which was good for the standard of the room.
The girl was very nice in reception ,, the shower was nice , didn't try breakfast or meal there ,

This 4 star hotel was reasonably priced, with free parking just on the city ring road. It looks like it is farther from the old town than it actually is. It is a pleasant 10 minute walk into the centre or alternatively the local bus service is very handy. Big shopping centre next door and also cheap petrol station.Rooms comfortable and staff friendly and helpful.Only drawback was the insonorisation of the rooms could hear people in the bathroom nextdoor.

Room Tip: if you want the option of self catering go for the option of junior suite for a little extra

Hotel is located just on the outskirt of Vitoria adjacent to a huge shopping mall but one must need to drive there and parking is free. The interior design of the hotel is quiet modern but the room sizes vary by 10-20% depending on your assignment. We had probably the smallest room on the floor with the beds located on the wrong side of the wall so one looks right at the bed as one enter the hallway.
The larger rooms have the conventional bed placements which I would prefer. Otherwise, the bath is very nice and breakfast is quite good too.

Room Tip: Ask for the room with the conventional bed placement and you will get the larger and more comfortabl...

On arriving at Hotel Boulevard, we were told that we were being upgraded from a standard room to a junior suite with no extra cost due to over booking. This was a lovely and unexpected surprise. Our room was larger than my one bed apartment at home! It contained a kitchen/sitting room, a very large bedroom and bathroom with an excellent shower. The beds were so soft with luxurious pillows and blankets. Like a lot of Spanish hotels there was no double beds, just 2 twin beds together but it didn't matter when they were so comfy. Parking was free of charge in the hotel parking which can be sometimes difficult to get in Spanish cities.
Reception staff were very helpful with excellent english and very accommodating. We did not eat in the hotel so I can not comment on that.
The room's location is a short 10 minute walk into the centre of the city. The room for the night was great value. There is free wifi but the only bad thing about the hotel is that it is just in the reception area and not in the rooms. I would go back.

Room Tip: upgrade to a junior suite-well worth it!
