This place is worth every dollar or euro. Was an amazing experience with a 13 course tasting menu. The staff is incredible - my expectations were high, but they exceeded them. A must do in San Sebastián make sure get reservations months in advance.

A true 3 Mechlin stars restaurant! Bravo to the Arzak's!
Make sure you make the reservation at least 2-3mths ahead of time!
One of the best 3-stars. The flavour, the combination, the colour...everything comes together so well! Amazing!!!!
It worth every penny, and all the traveling and driving just paid off after having dinner here.
Wine list is amazing! You can find anything to drink at a very reasonable price.

A must for the Michelin lovers out there. We were with our 8 year old son and the very first thing the host dos was to take care of him; taking away a huge concern for us. Next, after we had decided on our choices for the degustation menu, the waiter gently informed us that if there was any dish we didn't like we should talk to him and he will replace it right away. This is very important for all Michelin and degustation restaurants and their staff to remind their clients. It is taken for granted but in upscale and stiff environments like The Meadowood in Napa, it becomes harder to do and the result is that instead of replacing the dish you start going down a negative road with the experience.

In any case, every single dish was extremely well presented and really good and yummy. The local flavors are represented. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Lastly, the wine list is incredible at incredible prices. My 2008 Vega Sicilia Unico was only 400EU just about what I would pay for it retail in the US.

Very nice welcome by Adolfo, our host. He was there all night and did a great job.
First we were offered an aperitif. The cava was great, the house cocktail terrible.
Never mind. All the starters were amazing. Exact tasts, great looks on the plates.
The main courses were also good for the eyes, but in particular the lamb was without caracter. Served blind i would NOT guess lamb, and thats i problem, if you like lamb. The pigeon was great, but too must show at serving.
Dessert fantastic.
Could be a 5 Stars , but for the price and 3 Stars Michelin I expect more.
Elena came around during the dinner. Very nice takling to her.

I had high expectations for my first three Michellin star restaurant. I come from a country where we don't have Michellin stars and many of our excellent restaurants rate much lower on the Gourmet Traveller rating index than Arzak. I booked months ahead as a special birthday celebration for my husband and I. I really wanted to love this restaurant. Unfortunately from the start the service and food was seemingly perfunctory. The small introductory courses were rushed out with little gap in between. The maitre de ran a practised patter about the tasting menu. As a previous reviewer mentioned it was nice to have visited there but there were no memorable courses or reasons to return. The theatre and plating of the food was more impressive than the food itself. The desserts were by far the better courses.
