Old, historical part of town, small streets, tons of bars and restaurants, great atmosphere and fun times.

The Old Town is compact and easy wander around. Toughest decisions are which pintxos bar to visit, even though the answer is obvious: stop in every one of them, but just have one pintxo! A couple of interesting churches, but it's more about the people watching and food.

If you're a foodie and you happen to be in Spain, at San Sebastian to be specific, you're in for a solid treat. San Sebastian happens to be the gastronomic capital of Spain, and it's been dubbed as that for a reason. A few years back, I was lucky enough to have landed an internship with one of the world's best restaurants - and that meant living in one of the best cities I've ever been to. Moving forward, Parte Vieja or "Old Town" in English is where you'll find about 90% of the good food all this city has to offer. The Basque are known for its bite sized specialties - pintxos. Around Parte Vieja, you'll literally see pintxos bars all over. Each of which have their own specialty which people often come back for. Pintxos bars like Goiz Argi, La Cuchara de San Telmo, Atari Gastroteka, Borda Berri are the arguably the best in town and definitely not to be missed out on. You'll end up going gaga with the countless number of places to try! But it's definitely a spot to visit. It sure has a lot to offer

The old town is a great place to walk around and get small bites (pintxos) from small cases too many to count. The food is exceptional at nearly all of the places, and it is fun rustling to get orders in. Our favorite dinners were just standing outside of the cafes in the outdoor standing tables, having a beer or wines and eating the small plates. San Sebastián is a great town and the old town is fabulous. The old town is picture post card perfect.

The little Gothic alleyways, the colorful spreads of Pintxos in almost every bar, the friendly people. I could wander around this area for days.
The nighttime gives you a whole different experience. I really recommend you go both in the day AND at night - or just go in the daytime and stay... The streets are cobbled in places so wear good shoes and stop often!
