“Interesting food and surroundings.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2013

My husband and myself decided to check out this restaurant in San Sebastian recently after seeing the reviews. We weren't disappointed - the food was interesting but also very well cooked and presented. The service was friendly and efficient but at no stage did we feel hurried. It was a lovely relaxing meal after doing tapas the night before. I would definitely recommend it.

“A nice change of pace”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2013 via mobile

We love San Sebastian, and especially love the restaurants, but we went here just because it was a block away from our apartment and we're very happy with the outcome. First, this is not your typical San Sebastian restaurant. The food is eclectic, the menu very interesting, and the ingredients are good. You could easily imagine this restaurant in a major American city. Probably could do with a little less salt on the barbecued ribs, but otherwise everything was very good including the service. Also, the cocktails are outstanding. We will definitely be back.

The place was mint, the service excellent and the food absolutely fantastic. I loved it. We had a great time later on when the Dj came up. The cocktails are unbelievable and I got mortal.

“Wonderful food and exceptional service - don't miss this gem!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2013 via mobile

We visited on a Monday night when they do a themed set menu for 20 euros. We were delighted that the theme was Chinese food. My husband is allergic to shellfish which we told the waitress and the chef came to discuss options and they settled on steak and a goats cheese salad starter. Our Chinese starter was the most delicious tiger prawns followed by a spicy beef and tofu rice with pak choi and a delicious sauce. All followed by a gorgeous baked cheesecake. The steak was enormous and perfectly cooked with lovely charcoal sear on the outside. The goats cheese was nicely matured and the salad dressing was wonderful. There was a good selection of wines starting from 12 euros upwards. Great cocktails and a wide choice of beers.

The decor is chic contemporary and feels very comfortable. Good mix of music playing and a friendly atmosphere. We were so impressed with how they handled the allergy taking the time and consideration to discuss options. As the chef said, they are in the hospitality business not just a restaurant. Totally agree with his statement. You must visit this restaurant if you are in San Sebastian. We will definitely return!

“Brilliant brunch!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2013 via mobile

Had a great time at La Madam - we ate from the brunch menu and it was delicious (see photos). Not too expensive considering the quantity and quality. It's a pretty cool place, although there's probably a better atmosphere in the evenings. Our waitress was friendly and English speaking - my only criticism is that it was all too rushed. The next brunch course would come before we'd finished the last. The restaurant was quiet but I think we were a bit late, so I can only imagine they were keen to close the kitchen? Would've like more time to enjoy all the lovely food - but felt a bit rushed/sick - had to lie on the beach to digest!!
