My apartment looks over Playa Zurriola ... it is a very clean beach ...the surfers are out at day break.. locals walking their dogs ... joggers... just a beautiful peaceful beach... something special

I don't surf, but I might be inspired to after seeing this beach. It's a surreal thing to sea a surfer's shack, surfing schools, and people running about in wet suits (in any weather), in the middle of Europe! But it's a great place for surfing. The beach is beautiful, and it's in a quieter part of town (though still very central). It's a nice place for a stroll, less tourists to dodge.

Whenever I have dropped clients off in San Sebastian I always swing by Zurriola to check the surf. It is now my favourite place to surf in this part of Spain and France. I usually also take a photo and report the surf to several blogs. You can find all of my photos from here if you look hard enough. I have attached 4 photos, one from each month this summer.

One thing that I have noticed is how little-used the public toilet facility is. It is very poorly marked but it is at the far eastern end of the beach underneath the car park.

This is a super beach to walk along and admire the skills of some of the great surfers of the world. It really is awesome to watch their skill on the great big surf that pushes them either back to shore or further and further to the rocks. Otherwise it is for me the scruffier side of San Sebastian as the buildings and cafes are not so smart but the activity on the beach more than makes up for it
