This is a very clean hotel throughout, the rooms are bright and modern with very comfortable beds. The hotel has very good amenities, ample parking and a 7 minute walk to the beach and a further 8 minutes to the town centre. Well worth its 4.5 stars.More

We stayed 3 nights with friends, despite a last minute booking we were given great rooms with balconies. Cleanliness was excellent and the beds so comfortable we’d like to have the same at home! Plenty of pillows too. Facilities in the hotel were great and the wellness area was my special treat to myself, the massage and facial with Thalgo products were amazing, we are all vegetarian and there was a great choice of food we could eat, for breakfast and later in the bar and restaurant, I also have gluten allergy and they went out of their way to make sure i could eat things too. The bar makes the BEST mojitos!! The hotel is onky a 5 minute walk to the beach, and i would say well placed to visit San Sebastian. We did a lot of walking but that is unavoidable unless you take taxis or buses.

Well not quite Fawlty Towers, but some Manuel-like episodes.
Day one, 2.00pm at the front desk we ask if they would make a reservation at a recommended restaurant. "The concierge will be back at 4.00pm".
Day one, "what temperature is the pool"?. "We don't have a pool".
"I just saw the pool as we arrived in the bus". "The pool is closed on the 1st October".
It was very warm and the hotel was full. The pool and chairs looked clean and inviting, but...
Day two, "hello, can we have someone bring a corkscrew to our room please". "We only have one, you need to bring the bottle to the bar".
There is more but you get the idea. This a €220 per night hotel at the moment.
The rooms are clean if not a little stark. The bed is fantastic and the aircon works well.
The staff seem nice and I can only assume this is a case of good people trapped by bad systems (and policies). It is part of a big chain.
San Sebastián is fantastic but we will look elsewhere when we return.

Spent two nights at the Barcelo since we couldn't find any accommodation elsewhere. Located in a nice residential area about 25 minute walk from the city center we found the hotel cold and not suitable for families. Our room was not ready when we arrived and we had to wait a long time. We were on the first floor overlooking a small terrace that was filthy with cigarette buds and plastic bottles, we complained twice but nobody paid attention to us.
It is very busy with groups and very noisy late night. Breakfast is very expensive and parking costs 15euro per day.
We felt that a stay in Donostia deserves a cossier place.

A comfortable hotel with courteous staff -- and thank goodness for the free shuttle! The breakfast buffet was generous; the bar area was large and comfortable. We stayed here as part of a 50th wedding anniversary trip, and the hotel surprised us with a bottle of champagne on our first night.

A 30 minute walk away from the old centre. Used by groups so can get busy. Generally good with polite and friendly staff. Pool access is via the main entrance which is not brilliant and parking is quite expensive.
