I spent here 3,5 hours and may come back. I highly recommend this museum to everybody keen on history and present.Situation in the old city makes it easy to find nice restaurants/txipos places.

Terrific presentation of Basque history and culture. Best to have the audioguide. Also a wonderful temporary exhibit on "screens," with well-done contemporary video. Worth a trip to understand the distinctiveness of the region and its challenges.

This museum is about as close to the water as you can get in El Parte Viejo. The location is set within a cloister. When I went to visit today, there was a terrific exhibit (I preferred the historical components) that included interactivity with online contributions and iPads in the museum. The rest of the museum was terrific for someone who is interrested in the Basque culture. I have been to a number of museums over the past 3 years, and this one is a contender. I think that the plus is the temporary exhibits.

I very much like the idea of a museum of the Basque nation, but this place isn't there quite yet . The building is new, there is multimedia presentation, but they've not made it user friendly. There are audioguides missing numbers on the walls of the exhibits. Visitors dont' know where to go. The building is an interesting restored convent but it is a patchwork and doesn't flow well. Won't take too much work and a good director to straighten this out . Has potential to be a very interesting attraction and one of a kind. Hope they keep working on it.
