Owner description: Your first taste of txakoli, the sight of a bar filled with tapas, the smell of fresh olive oil being pressed, the feel of thinly sliced jamon iberico between your fingers...your senses are sharper at the source. We believe travel should be unique and personal, but most of all, it should be authentic. Explore a culture through its food and drink, its producers and chefs and the love and "mimo" they put into all their creations. Since we were founded in San Sebastian, Spain, in 2009, we strive to bring the mimo to visitors who want to immerse themselves in local food culture. Live the Mimo experience on our culinary tours, at our gourmet shops in San Sebastian (San Sebastian Food) and Sevilla (Mimo Sevilla), as well as in our luxury cooking school located in the Hotel Maria Cristina in the centre of San Sebastian. Our team of locals is passionate about sharing their culture, offering a taste of its delicious dishes, and welcoming you into the Mimo family.

“Good times”
Reviewed October 3, 2012 via mobile

Great tour for first timers to San Sebastian, it's a great introduction to pintxos. We learnt some of the tricks of ordering and what wines/cider/beer goes well. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would do it again. Our guide was fantastic and very passionate about what she was doing.

“Good Food, Good Wine and Giggles”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

This is probably one of the best tours in San Sebastian. We booked online before we went to ensure we got on one of the tours. When we got there we were greeted by a lovely guide who showed us the best places to go in the old part of town. We were in a group of about 9 (including us) and that made it all the more fun, also being part of the group you learn where others have eaten and where not to go. We went along to 6 different places where we tried the best San Sebastian had to offer. The strangest thing we ate was sweetbreads but it was cooked to perfection and was amazing. Also included is the wines and cider, and they matched the foods. All I have to say is that if you go to San Sebastian you MUST make this part of your trip!!

“Three for three!”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

We recently spent three days in San Sebastian, our second trip in as many years. This time we had a group of seven, five had never been to San Sebastian. Based on TA reviews, we decided to do the Tapas Crawl, a cooking class and a food walking tour. All were outstanding. The Tapas Crawl probably was our favorite. Even though we had been to some of the same tapas bars last year, our guide ordered specialities we were not aware of. We had a blast and enjoyed all the tastes nd local wines she introduced us to. The tapas cooking class was also very enjoyable.

“Unique Experience in San Sebastian”
Reviewed September 23, 2012

Four friends travelling together joined one of the San Sebastian Food Pintxos tasting tours with Lourdes as our guide. We were totally unfamiliar with the entire Pintxos (Tapas) experience but, after several hours with Lourdes, felt like we were experts. Her knowledge of the history and area in and around Barcelona was exceptional and her enthusiasm and great sense of humour turned a learning experience into an entertaining, fun and filling (food, cider and wine) evening for all of the 9 people in our tour group. If you are going to be in San Sebastian for several days do this tour on the first day and reap the benefits for the remainder of your visit.

“Pintox Tour - really great!!”
Reviewed September 20, 2012

We joined Jon ( the owner of SSF) on a hot Saturday evening in August for his Pintox ( tapas) Tour. There were about 10 of us ( aussies, americans & english). What a night! San Sebastian was buzzing! He took us to 3 traditional Pintox Bars nestled in the old town of San Sebastian, then 3 of the best contemporary Pintox Bars. We were given a selection of the bars best foods! and wow what a party for my taste buds! At each bar he also gave us a matching wine/beer/ bitter kaz! How intriguing to watch the barmen pour the drinks from a hight into the large glass tumblers!
Jon was a wonderful host, very informative , with tit bits of history of both the town and the food. We would highly recommend this tour.
We were out for about 3 hrs and left to party on afterwards.
