Clean and well-structured. The big drawback are the thin walls, if you're a light sleeper -- whenever your neighbors close a door, a drawer, or a closet, you are definitely going to hear it. The staff has good and bad moments: sometimes they are all smiles, sometimes they barely register your presence. But overall, they're helpful. It lies close to several bus stops whose buses will take you to the city center in no time.

I travel a lot, and this was another solo business trip. I was booked into this hotel by the company I was visiting, and this was my first stay at this hotel after several visits here.

Firstly I can say from my travels I have no idea where they got their 4-star rating from! It is a 3-star hotel at most, and even missing some things I'd expect as standard in 3-star hotels eg. tea/coffee-making facilities, an iron, and electronic room safe (there was a room safe, but key-operated and they didn't provide a key...). The room I was in also looked like it was last decorated in the 1980s and the net curtains looked like they hadn't been cleaned since then.

That said, the rest of the room was clean; the bathroom also had an excellent modern shower system. Bed was of average comfort (and having just stayed in 2 different hotels in different cities before arriving in San Sebastian, I really noticed the difference). The TV channel choices weren't as up-to-date as the other hotels I'd stayed in too (both only 3-stars!). I was also put in a room on the 1st floor which directly faced onto a busy 1-way road, despite having asked for a quiet room, so I didn't sleep well :( There is free wifi but it was really intermittent and the room I was in didn't have a strong signal so I sometimes had to walk out into the corridor to connect.

As others have mentioned, the hotel is located a long walk to the centre of the city (20-25 mins) relatively close to the university quarter and the Palacio Mirador. There are some nice local bars & restaurants, but not a patch on the city centre or the Gros neighbourhood.

Staff were all very helpful & efficient. The breakfast was OK: a good selection, and at least juices were fresh, but a 4-star hotel would have provided more fresh bakery products (not pre-packaged pre-made food). I didn't eat in the restaurant, but I had pinxtos in the bar one evening as it was late & I was too tired to walk elsewhere, but they were easily the worst I've had in San Seb.

All in all I wouldn't stay here again, as there are better choices for a similar budget money eg. Astoria 7.

Room tip: if you're a light sleeper avoid the rooms on lower floors facing busy roads

Another enjoyable relaxing stay in this hotel. All staff very friendly and helpful. Very good deal with Expedia nearly a quarter of the rack rate booked a couple of months in advance. Having an underground garage makes life a lot easier.

Lovely cafe and terrace with great staff and great food. We ate in the restaurant too, same chef, excellent food.

Thanks again Fani and Nieve. You are both stars!

As a professional traveller (intl. airline pilot), I stay at a lot of hotels worldwide, and have a pretty fair expectation of what a 3, 4 and 5 star hotel should represent. I don't know where this hotel got its 4 star ranking from, but categorically it's a 3.5 at best, despite the price.

We noticed that the room was missing various amenities such as
- no clothes iron ("Use our pressing service...EU$4 per shirt....oh, drop off is tomorrow")...so don't visit if you're a business traveller...!
- no coffee making facilities...Kettle, tea, instant coffee etc
- double bed, but only one bedside table.....don't visit as a couple
- no room safe (or at least its outdated and they don't provide the key)
- the window blinds are slightly too short, and there's no way to turn the outside light off?
- using their laundry service would cost you EU$60+ for a standard load of washing.

The location isn't brilliant, as I'd really recommend you stay closer in town, but it's a nice 20-30 minute walk into the centre of town along the waterfront, and is close to the beach (but the staff are helpful in showing you where the bus is).
There is fast wifi, although it is intermittent.

Although not located in the old quarter of San Sebastian, this hotel is in a lovely area, just 20 mins walking along the beautiful promenade to the old town. There are some very nice tapas bars and restaurants in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. The hotel is comfortable and offers value for money with good sized rooms and bathrooms. The breakfast was very good. Staff members all very friendly and helpful. Would return.
