“Good Sea Food, but Expensive”
Reviewed November 30, 2012

The quality of the food was very good as usual in the region but the prices were high. The quality of the food was not different than the tapas bars that people usually goes during the day, which were much cheaper than this restaurant.
But if you are tired of standing while eating tapas and looking for a nice sea food restaurant, you may try this.

“Great Pintxos in San Sebastian”
Reviewed October 15, 2012

Great variety of pintxos served by a very congenial host. All the pintxos not only looked amazing, they were also really tasty. The place had a great atmosphere and seemed to be frequented by locals. You could even sit at a table rather than just standing at the bar! A really enjoyable experience.

“Downstairs is over priced & has poor service!”
Reviewed October 12, 2012 via mobile

The only positive this place has is fresh Seafood at a high price. For example we had the prawns @ €20 (10 prawns on a plate) I paid €6 for the same thing 2 nite ago. Now for the service! I don't know if they employ Family or it's the bosses wife but this women was special! She had both my wife & I & the table next to us giggling our heads off at her little temper tantrums, not just at us & our lack of Spanish & trying to take our time ordering but all over the restaurant with her customers. Don't waste yr time!

“Pinxtos and dinner”
Reviewed September 27, 2012

We ate at Bernados the first night we were in San Sebastian on a recommendation from our hotel Maria Cristina. We started with pinxtos in the bar including a plate of jamon iberica and pimientos padrones which became my favorite food of the trip. At dinner we ate the most amazing Galician octopus that melted in your mouth. We returned almost every night we were in town for pimientos padrones.

“Not what we expected”
Reviewed September 11, 2012

The Concierge at Maria Cristina highly recommended this place, but we were rather disappointed. Food simple, service hurried, wine average, and dull settings. With the great alternatives in this wonderful city, Berrnardo Extea does not live up to expectations!
