Don't miss at the bottom the room where you can touch paintings and sculptures like if you were blind. Another way to discover art. Small seat to carry, comfortable if you want to write or to draw. Very interesting modern district.

We don't often come across a really awful funcionario these days but today was the exception. She glared at us as we dared to interrupt her conversation to ask for our tickets. We asked, in our passable Spanish, if we could leave our raincoats and were told it was not possible (we later saw signs for the cloakroom) and did not offer us a plan of the museum, we came across them by chance a few minutes later. It's a shame, we know plenty of young, enthusiastic, unemployed Spaniards who would love to work here and would do a great job. But I digress. This is an amazing building with huge rooms and lots of space for some really large art works. Very well laid out, there are over 6,000 exhibits from 12th century to present day. Well worth a visit, we went in for an hour and emerged three hours later. And if you happen to be in Bilbao on a Wednesday, it's free. They have a good website, too.

Great tip - visit the museum on Wednesdays - admission is free! Allow yourself a couple of hours to see all the exhibits.

loved the content, and the entry fee is less than a quarter of the better known Guggenheim! My advice would be to visit the G outside only but come into this one....well worth it.
