Description: With a tradition of more than 85 years, La Viña del Ensanche offers two different spaces: The Bar, traditional premise with the classic ambient of tavern, including a covered terrace. It's Degustation Menu includes the best products from our main carte. Is the best option for an informal contact with the rhythm and pulse of the town. The Taller (Workshop), an intimate ambient with a more exclusive service, with a Gastronomic Menu accompanied with a cellar of more than 150 references, all prepared live in front of the customer. Finally, the Store, a delicatessen where you can purchase gastronomic specialities and selected wine.

Great choice!
Good atmosphere totally in line with Bilbao style.
Service quick and very kind but the best is the food.... the tuna is highly recommended but you can try different as we have done.
It's a must in Bilbao.

We stopped by la Viña for a quick tapa and were able to work our way to the bar after a few minutes. The atmosphere is very comfortable and welcoming. Our tapas were simple (un montadito de jamón y una gilda) and very well-prepared. Perhaps we would have enjoyed the bar more had we ordered more items off the menu. It is a very nice place to have a drink and a bite to eat before moving on to dinner.

Very high tech menu including iPad and interactive projector. The menu included 6 languages but unfortunately Latin and Ancient Greek were not options. There were minimal vegetarian options, as is traditional in Spain, but the single salad was very nice. The presentation and flavour of every dish was exquisite, especially the hake, which we recommend. The cheese ice cream was small but a very nice addition to a fabulous dessert. Please do order the chocolate mousse. The €1.75 house red was also pretty acceptable. A great evening.

Stayed for 2 nights in Bilbao and ate here both nights, as we so enjoyed our first visit. The customers were mainly local and it is obviously a very popular place with them - always a good sign. One or two staff have good English but everyone was keen to help. An I-pad with a translation of the menu is available if needed. The goat's cheese salad was beautiful as a starter as was the plate of local cooked meats. Try the award-winning ham. We ordered a few plates for sharing, tapas style including pigs cheek which despite the name was delicious. If you are a larger party with a sweet tooth, try the special Willy Wonka dessert. The guys at the table next to us had this and it looked amazing!

Worth booking table ahead of time as there are not that many and it is a popular place. Our bill for 3 people was 85 euros for three courses, two bottles of local wine, local liqueur and coffee.

On a two day stay in Bilbao, I managed to hit 6 of the tapas bars rated highly on Trip Advisor. All were good, but I loved the food, the service and the ambiance at La Vina. Both times I was there, I was the only tourist - tons of locals, but the staff treated me with the same friendly service as the regulars. I had the fancier tapas as well as the simple ones. I can highly recommend the pulpo and the unbelievably simple but good toasts with tomato and Iberico that sits on the counter -- you can tell it's special because all the locals start with one of those and move on from there!
