This hotel is in a great location...but also has the metro train and all the buses running right underneath the windows and is close to a major park which had very loud, not enjoyable music going on the weekend til past midnite. Our room had 2 very large mirrors..and a dark purple ceiling...thought I'd ret'd to the 70's. Shower w/ a ton of shower heads..which didn't work nor did the wi-fi in our room. Not sure how old this building is..but there is a snack bar on the top floor and my husband noticed the way the original wood planks were put together was using pieces of wood versus nails....so it's been around awhile. We were on the 5th floor...took one elevator up a floor and had to walk down the hall to a 2nd elevator to get to the 5th. We will say no matter who was on the front desk they were extremely helpful...

We'd seen this hotel on previous visits and thought it was well-located. It is, and you won't be disappointed with its position in Bilbao: very convenient for the old town, the river and the tram stop. We chose it this time because it had a special offer.
It now advertises itself as a High Tech Hotel. Hmmm. I wonder which advertising guru thought that one up? The building itself is quaintly old-fashioned and situated in the ancient centre. The air-conditioning unit in our room was near-enough medieval, and did not work at all. We stayed in October and it was 28 degrees outside. We spent an uncomfortably warm night listening to a lot of street noise which wasn't eliminated by the double glazing. The TV had only 3 channels on it and resisted all attempts to retune it. (Room 207)
Maybe the HiTech thing referred to the shower which had all sorts of knobs and nozzles?
Overall, the hotel was OK for a short stay, but it looked a little bit down-at-heel, with cracked windows at the front and obvious issues all round with things like grotty grouting and stains on the curtains.
A power shower and a vending machine do not a HiTech Hotel make......
The receptionist didn't enquire about how we'd enjoyed our stay and I suppose there was little point in complaining after the event, especially as I'd paid upfront, but I don't think I'd stay there again.

Got this accomadation for a relatively good price but it's best selling point was location. It's just on the edge of the old town so easy for the Guggenheim and the museums as well as plaza Nueva and the seven sisters streets.

Relatively modern furnished and great staff.

Perfectly situated in the Casco Viejo of Bilbao. Across from Teatro Arriaga, Close to Basque museum, walking distance to Guggenheim museum. Many good bars/eateries within a couple of blocks providing such a variety of pintxos!
The staff was very pleasant, helpful, and knowledgeable. The breakfast on the 6th floor was 6€, a variety of fare for every taste.
Our room had a balcony overlooking the Teatro Arriaga and Parque Arenal and Paseo. The room was ample sized, with TV, WiFi, in room safe, plenty of closet/drawer space, shower. Two twin beds were pushed together... the only drawback (and the reason for only 4 stars), the mattresses were too firm for us.

Located on the edge of the old part of Bilbao, this hotel is in a great location. An easy walk takes you to a myriad of tapas/pintxos bars or to the Guggenheim across the river. The rooms are small but comfortable and not expensive. The staff were really helpful with suggestions for places to eat and directions. We only stayed the one night before moving on to San Sebastian and didn't have breakfast or check out the restaurant. You can hear the street noise but only in the background.

My friend and I spent a great week in the Petit Palace hotel in beautiful Bilbao. Other than the amenities of this hotel, maybe the greatest asset of this property is the staff working there. They are always available, friendly, helpful and professional. My special thanks to Azier, working in reception/ reservation center, a person that not only helped us with the checking in and other hotel related matters, but also with the every day local and cultural aspects, with useful tips about surroundings and restaurants, making sure we ware okay during our stay in Bilbao. It really increased the value of our experience in this property. For that we both thank you!

Room Tip: The rooms with view to the street are absolutely fantastic.

I have stayed here before and it is a great location right on the edge of the old town. The rooms are quiet small and we had a room close to the stairs which was very noisy. If you open the window there is also a lot of street noise but with the window closed there was none. The shower is quiet tiny and the bathroom a narrow corridor and it you have long legs your knees touch the wall while sitting on the toilet.
