Good location just a block away from the tram. Bars and restaurants all around. Kind of a funky place that we only stayed for a night. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was nothing special but it was sufficient for a night.

Room Tip: Would prefer being in the back for less noise. Front of B&B is right over a busy area.

i stayed with my fiancee for 4 nights in this pension/b & b
I would have given it three stars only but the location is ideal!
Firstly,I had asked in advance for a room facing the street and a special room,I had said in my email to the b & b,i would pay extra for a lovely room,They said this would be catered for via email,On arrival we were given a small double room facing a dingy courtyard,I let it go and just enjoyed it but i was annoyed as they had guaranteed me a nice room, the room next to me when i had a peek was far superior!So...luck of the draw!I got engaged in bilbao and we actually ended up moving to another hotel for a night as a treat anyway so it really didnt matter
It wasnt all negative...
Positives: location,on doorstep of all pintxo bars and old part!FAB!!! welcoming staff!didnt have breakfast so wont comment, near tram stop especially if you need to go to main bus sttaion to travel elsewhere, not convenient for taxis really,5 min walk from train to other areas outside bilbao,We got a train to bermeo which was lovely!
good value, albeit 60 euro a night for a double and when we went to a 5 star luxury hotel for 1 special evening,it was only 85,we have have been lucky. When i was looking on the area to stay,Im delighted i picked the casco viejo/old part!It is a beautiful place!walking to guggenheim, tram to san mames,we went to a match,i highly recommend
very importantly...CLEAN!our room was tiny, clean and basic,i booked for the quirky ness, apart from some above the bed,it wasnt as quirky as i imagined,i was expecting sheep you see
so in all!good find,i was just disappointed as i had specifically requested a room, told it was no problem and then that wasnt the case so it slightly dampens my review however i would still spread good things and recommend for location, basic and clean

Room Tip: not number 7,small double facing a courtyard obviously fridays and saturdays, the front part will b...

We had a 1 night B&B stopover after a 3 week trip around the Languedoc and the Basque region, before we got the ferry back to UK from Bilbao. The location of the hotel is excellent..right in the centre of the old town of Bilbao, which was most interesting and deserving of a longer stay. The owner was on duty as the normal receptionist was away for a few days, but she spoke excellent English and was welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room was small but adequate, clean and fairly quiet as it overlooked an internal lightwell, not the street. The rooms and public area are decorated with quirky bits of 'objets d'art' which gave quite a fun character to the whole place. It was an easy walk to everywhere of interest and all the restaurants, and only about 15 mins. walk to the Guggenheim. The only slight problem we had was that from somewhere within the building it was a bit noisy with the sounds of children into the early hours, so we had a disturbed night from inside the hotel, not outside. This may just have been a 'one-off' (I know the Spanish stay up later). The breakfast was pretty basic too, although the whole stay was fairly good value.

I arrived at 7 pm with a tooth about to fall out. The manageress, who speaks fluent French and English, instantly telephoned her own dentist and arranged for me to see him first thing the next morning. And very competent he turned out to be, removing the troublesome tooth in seconds and not charging me a penny. I was not charged for breakfast either, as I could only manage coffee and a roll. I felt as if I were staying at a friend's house rather than in a hotel and warmly recommend this place for its quietly competent management, quirky decoration, friendly cosmopolitan atmosphere and excellent location.

We had a very comfortable 5 night stay at this b&b with its amazing array of unusual furnishings. The location in the centre of the old town is perfect with easy access to many sights and the excellent transport systems. Nearby there are a large number of varied local restaurants and bars which serve a great range of impressive Pintxos at reasonable prices. As mentioned in previous reviews the street outside can be quite noisy with pedestrians and shoppers until late evening but we found this added to the excellent atmosphere. The owner was charming and very helpful as were other members of her staff. We would certainly stay here again.

Room Tip: Bedrooms at the front overlook a street which can be busy at times.

Charming, friendly, great atmosphere. Great location in the heart of the Old City (Casco Viejo) and excellent value/price ratio. Truly cosmopolitan, you will find guests from all over the world. Staff fluent in English (and I suspect in French too). Each room has its own decoration and personality. Good Continental breakfast, albeit a little expensive.

we've just had a couple of nights here and not much to add to or disagree with previous reviews. A friendly welcome awaits you, the rooms are quiet and comfortable; free and fast wi-fi works well, breakfast is average and quite expensive and you may do better at one of the cafes nearby. The street below is busy with shoppers and tapas bars but becomes tranquil shortly after 11pm. We went by car and the nearest parking is the Arenal which is a few hundred yards away and relatively expensive, we also took cycles which is an ideal way to explore Bilbao, although the tram and bus systems are comprehensive and convenient. We needed to carry our cycles up a flight of stairs overnight, though.
