Bilborooms did not open when I arrived in the evening. I rang the bell and I knocked on the door. In the end I had to find another hotel for that night but Bilborooms charged me for a no show! This is not acceptable!!!

The pension is a bit difficult to find until you know the system. There is no large sign outside - just a little plaque above the door and a sign on the various bell-pushes to indicate it is on the first floor.
It is in a block with other floors having private accommodation.
Beware the walk up the the first floor if you have much luggage.

However, once found, it is in a good position in the old town of Bilbao.

The room was small and could have done with a general paint-and-spruce-up.
Breakfast was d-i-y (including washing up.)

So, in a way, it was more like a hostel.

Nevertheless, for a pretty low price in the centre of a tourist district it was not bad value.
Just don't expect too much.

Stayed there for 1 night, unfortunately for us all nights were sold out, otherwise we would have stayed there all nights in Bilbao. Very friendly staff, our room was refurbished and in mint condition and had a big balcony. Since it's located right in town in a very busy street (no cars) at night can be quite noisy. Basic breakfast, small kitchen, but don't need more since you have lots of cafes just on that street.

Decent room which looked to have been newly done. Staff were welcoming and happy to help when asked. Nice to have a balcony overlooking the street. Bars and restaurants outside the door but quiet for sleeping

Breakfast is free but fairly standard - tea/coffee, bread and jam/other stuff - and fine if you're happy with that. You may struggle without speaking some Spanish. Reasonable place for Bilbao but for a bit more money lots more options that are more plush if preferred.

Room Tip: Room balconies are mixed, some external and some internal (as is local style) so worth asking if you have a preference

Having got the bus in from the airport this place is a 10 min walk across town from the bus stop. It's about 15-20 mins from the main bus station . The location , in the old town , is excellent . It is a few minutes stroll to an array of great tapas bars in the Plaza Mayor and it's adjoining streets .
The rooms were clean and comfortable , the staff not overly friendly and the breakfast provided scant .
