We stayed one night in this hotel and it was a pleasant stay. The older style of decoration was pleasant, the rooms were simply furnished and practical. There was no air-conditioning though you could open the window.
The bathroom was clean with good facilities and amenities.
The double bed was quite firm and curiously, with one long pillow.
Breakfast was available in the cafeteria and this was very simple but nice.
Not expensive and very well located this is quite a reasonable place to stay if you don’t have five star expectations.

The hotel has a old style but it is in good state. The service was very good and the staff was always ready to help. The hotel is in the main avenue and near of the town hall. There is a lot of restaurants and coffee shops near of the hotel.

Hotel Alcomar is a lovely hotel right on the beach in the wonderful town of Gijon. It looks like it has seen better days but that is part of the charm, this isn't your faceless, generic hotel, it's a history lesson, a wonder of old curiosities. It was spotlesslessly clean, pretty quiet considering its location and the seaview was breathtaking. The dark-haired woman on the front desk was the most helpful, patient and kind person I've dealt with in a long time, an absolute star.
A lovely place to stay.

Room tip: Get a sea view.

This hotel is perfect to visit Gijón without stress. Is close to the beach and near to the historical city centre. Enjoy your stay at the hotel and the restaurants, beach and other attractions in the Asturian Kingdom.

We got to Gijon in the rain....we left Gijon in the rain. It realky rained ob this trip.

Good location but somewhat dated hotel right in the town...close by shops and waters edge.
.Reception staff really helpful and cheery.

Bed was a tad hard and room dated and spartan.

All a bit last century.

Will the rain stop ? unsure.
