We had an amazing experience at this hotel. Similar to a prior review if can only reiterate that the service was second to none and all down to the owner Mara who is totally focused on every guest from the moment they check in to the moment they leave. The service here would put many so called luxury hotels to shame. Rooms are very comfortable and the breakfast is an experience in itself with the chance too sample an array of locally sourced produced and Asturian home cooking.
Anyone visiting this wonderful part of Spain should definite check out this gem.

Room tip: Rooms with Balcony are great for sampling an evening cocktail

Our love for La Ermita de Deva started in 2016 when we were greeted with the warmest welcome one could ask for. Mara and her team set the example for superb hospitality. We felt as though we were visiting our favorite family member from the moment you arrive to the day you say your sad goodbye.
The days at La Ermita de Deva always start off on the right note with a beautiful spread of her delicious breakfast. You will never leave hungry so long as Mara and her team are in the kitchen. A beautiful covered patio connected to the dining room is the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine, beer or drink any time of the day.

It goes without saying that there is a lot of love and effort put into running this little paradise. Quaint decorations surround you everywhere on the property, including your bed! Every room opens its windows to the breathtakingly beautiful views of green mountains and valley. If you listen closely, you will hear the sound of cowbells as the cows roam the lush green mountains in the distance.

Our rooms were extremely clean and tidy. Our beds were covered with crisp white linens and the room smelled fresh every day. Should you grab a bottle of cold water from the fully stocked fridge, it will be replenished the next day.

We have beautiful memories from staying here. That is why we chose to come back again in 2018. We plan to continue coming back so long as our lives permit us to do so!

I was debating myself on whether to write this review in English or Spanish. I finally did choose English, because, honestly, there isn't really much else that hasn't been said on the Spanish reviews about this little rural hotel, but there is little reviews in English, and foreign visitors should know about this little gem because it is absolutely marvellous.

Let's start with the place. Located in Deva, a very small town quite close to Gijon and close enough to the rest of the big cities in Asturias which makes it a very nice base spot for visiting the whole region. The house has several rooms, some of them valid for families. Ours consisted in two different rooms connected, both with their bathrooms which would suit well families with 4 or even 5 people if one of the family members is a baby. The owners provide absolutely everything you can imagine. Literally. I've been in many five star hotels that don't provide half of the things you've got in your room for your convenience.

The house is nice from the outside, not spectacular but the decoration and details are superb. It has a lot of history too as it is a XVII house originally built around a tiny church and remodelled in the late XX. In any case, don't get fooled by the numbers. It is very modern. But, honestly, the 5 stars that you can see in all the ratings and that you will also see in the websites have two strong pillars. That is Mara and Patricia that will make you feel like if you were home. We were absolutely, again, total and absolutely overflow by their help, service, kindness, and friendliness. It is a service worth not 5 but 50 stars. We know perfectly well that we will very unlikely get that kind of service anywhere no matter how many stars. Things like playing games with our kids, setting up milk and a heater in case our little baby wakes up at night, ordering food at dinner, picking it up and setting the terrace area like a restaurant just for making our stay much better are things that really money can't pay.

More details, for people that love food, I must say that the breakfasts are not only huge but also delicious including many home made pastries and desserts. It is also totally customised to your stay and the owners take care of having a different breakfast every day. If you go with children, they will also get a special setup from their own cartoonish cutlery to a special assortment of things that kids like as kid yoghurts, cartoon cookies and such. Wifi. There is free wifi too, although I didn't test it much. There is also and open air but closed garage and the owners will give you a convenience remote for opening and closing the parking doors when coming in and out of the building.

Finally, one little detail for families and that we didn't see mentioned anywhere when we did choose this place is that the terrace is not only beautiful and large as you can see in the pictures, it also had a very extensive collection of games for all ages, from toddlers to kids or adult people. This room was the trip highlight for our little angels, so much that they defined it as the best room of their lives. Again, something that money can't pay.

Totally recommend it to anyone. Thank you so much for your attention Mara, we loved our stay.

Muchísimas gracias por vuestra hospitalidad. Nuestra estancia ha sido magnifica. Habéis hecho que lo que muchas veces es una lucha, el viajar con niños pequeños, fuese un placer. Un millón de gracias.

La Ermita de Deva is a beautiful home situated not far out of Gijon in the picturesque countryside. Our room (Laudes) was very large, with a bedroom, sitting room and two bathrooms (both with toilets). One bathroom had a bath and the other had a shower. Every attention was given to detail - good quality shampoo, soap, body lotion and even a little pack of personal items for the ladies. There was a choice of beautifully furnished sitting areas downstairs. Our favourite area was the glassed in patio from where you could look out at the extensive garden. Breakfast was different each day - the usual selection of bread and spreads, meat etc, but it also included beautifully prepared home made dishes as well (including hot food). While we were there we needed a doctor. Mara arranged an appointment at not simply a GP, but a specialist who was able to fix the problem. I believe that La Ermita de Deva would equal some of the high class accommodations that would charge much, much more. This was a place where every attention was given to detail and the love that Mara had for her work and for her guests was amazing. It truly was a "home", not simply a place to stay.

Room tip: You will need a car to get around. This hotel is a great choice for a relaxing weekend away.
