“Worth a short look”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 1, 2013

Guidebook photos of this beach make it look much more picturesque than it is. The beach is surrounded by mostly undistinguished urban buildings. The beach itself is broad and pleasing to eye. The best viewing is at the end near the Plaza Mayor. When I was there in June, the Atlantic was far to cold for swimming, so I can't comment on it from that perspective.

“The beach”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2013

Beautiful beach, well kept, clean and easy to enjoy. I walk on the beach at least 2-3 days a week, so happy to have moved to Gijon.

“Sydney like beach in Europe”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 14, 2013

If you like wind and cold water with a beautiful waterfront, I mean a long walking path with a beautiful coast...visit Gijon San Lorenzo. Compared to Sydney there s the same low key atmosphere during the non touristic season and the same busy stuff during the vacation time. Anyway Sydney is my favourite but Gijon is nice and peaceful, very safe and clean, without any bling bling which is more Spanish White coast atmosphere. Enjoy if you are a surf addict or over 25 !

“Visit in the spring”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 20, 2013

What a wonderful place just to sit and have a coffee and watch the world go by. The trees at this time of the year are a bit dead but I can only imagine how beautiful it will be come springtime.
