While touring northern / central Spain and you like to walk a little ... This is THE place. Some very stunning walks, gorges, mountain, veniculars, cable cars and donkeys. You need at least 2 days to drive it. We did it by Motorhome which was great allowing us to stop and stay where we wanted. Some really beautiful mountains and passes to be enjoyed. You can drive some of them.

“Great mountains and treking”
Reviewed June 18, 2012

Away from it all in lovely unspoilt countryside. The local food and cider are different and it is cheap. You need to do your research before setting off as some of the paths can be very remote and not well used.

“Great area”
Reviewed June 6, 2012

We did the circuit round the Picos in one day. It's a very long
drive. Fortunate to have good weather. You go through three
gorges on the circuit. No route through the middle. No always
easy driving but road always safe. Get up early if you do this
drive.

“Stunning landscape”
Reviewed May 21, 2012

Spent almost a week travelling around on from south east over to north west of the Picos based in Potes and Cangas. Amazing landscapes from gorges to glacial valleys. Travelled off season in May so still snow on the peaks. Took the Fuente De teleferico, pricey but what a view from on top. An amazing spot all around

“Stunning! Very unique scenery for Spain.”
Reviewed December 11, 2011

The whole area is just breathtaking. Worth a drive through and a stay for a night or two. I did not take one, but a guided hike or nature walk would be well worth the effort/price.
