A great location, just off the main plaza, and not far from the tapas and shopping areas. Car parking is nearby but a bit tricky to find, however you can't expect anything else in a city centre.
Very friendly check in staff.
I booked a double for solo occupation - it would be small for two people but perfect for me. Well equipped bathroom and good air conditioning - important as it's been 43 degrees today!
Good wifi signal, even on 5th floor.
Breakfast not included so I can't comment on that, I prefer to walk down the street to a cafe.
The only negative moment I would make is that you can hear plumbing noises from other rooms, louder than you would normally get.
Will definitely use again when I return to Zaragoza - I've fallen in love with the city (but will visit again when it's cooler!)

Don't get me wrong, this is a great hotel with a huge "no way to solve" deal breaker... Rooms are extremely and impossible noisy.
From our room we heard: every conversation in all adjacent rooms (above, below and to both sides)... kind of Dolby Surround.
Plumbing, toilets and drains can also be heard.
Couple having sex at 2am... (this was really disturbing)
Also, other room doors and elevator door, both closing with bang!
No noises from the street thou... great work there.

On the positive side:
Rooms are nice (on the small side)
Staff is incredible friendly
Breakfast buffet is really good
Beds are comfy
Location is great
Parking is convenient (but be aware is TINY TINY TINY, if you have a medium/large car just park somewhere else... Don't risk it)

Dear Guest,

We are deeply sorry for the noise inconvenience in your room. We feel extremely bad and we send you our sincere apologies.

This is a very bad review and other travelers that may be reading your lines will have a negative impression about our hotel. We really apologize because this time we did not offer you a calm and quiet stay. But we invite other travelers to give us a chance because the great majority of guests enjoyed a nice experience in our family run business.

The only thing that we can say is that this may be an occasional case. Our hotel is located in the heart of the historical part of the city, so that is why our building is not uniform, all the rooms are different, different size, different characteristics... and this time, your room was in a more noisy side of the building. And for punctual circumstances your neighbors were also very noisy and disturbing. We are again very sorry because we could not deal with this situation and find a solution during your stay.

It is very disappointing for us knowing that our guests did not enjoy our stay with us. We take note of your complaints and we will work hard to try to find a solution to this problem. We are always eager to improve and thanks to our guests comments we know the advantages and disadvantages of our hotel and this helps us to make changes and improvements in our establishment to offer the best service to our guests.

Thank you for your help and collaboration.

Best regards,
The Sauce Team.

Constant Companion and I were travelling from Bilbao to Barcelona by rail. Forget the High Speed Ave for this journey. It is not an option so the train ride is nearly 9 hours. So, since it was Santa Semana we decided to break up the rail ride by stopping in Zaragoza to visit its cathedral and to view some of Easter's festivities. Note: Zaragoza is an excellent stop either going to or departing from Basque Country.
The Hotel Sauce is the obvious choice in Zaragoza if you cherish value and location. A family run hotel it more resembles a Bed and Breakfast. All of the positions are filled by family members which assures you will receive genuine service and accurate information about your stay in the city. The location is in the center of Old Town within walking distance of all Zaragoza has to offer.
Our room was on the top floor and very quiet. Getting there in their tiny elevator was a bit of a challenge for claustrophobic CC and getting the door to unlock was a test but once you got the knack it was fine. The room itself had a comfortable bed, a new flat screen TV, a very small bathroom with even smaller shower but for the price excellent value. The highlight of our stay was their breakfast. Absolutely, do not abstain from this one!! Coffee made to order, fresh squeezed zumo de naranja, lots of fruits, breads and the like, but the highlight is their family recipe for Spanish Tortilla. They sell homemade jams too at the hotel but oh if only the Tortilla too!

Zaragoza ia a nice city with enough quality sights to easily spend 36 hours here. This hotel is close to all of the key sights and is very well managed with clean rooms and good breakfast items. Parking is a challenge for those with cars larger than an Audi A3. The underground parking garage is extremely tight and hard to maneuver around, even if you car has cameras and audio proximity alerts. We barely managed with the help of one of staff (forgot the gentleman's name, but he was from France) . I would recommend you take a look first on foot if in doubt. I am sure the hotel staff will be willing to point you to another garage if you ask.

Located in an excellent position the Hotel Sauce represents very good value for money. The decor of the rooms are open and fresh and the staff who all speak excellent English, are very happy to assist. The first room we were given attracted a lot of noise being over the reception and facing the street but we were happily moved to another room further down the corridor which was actually more attractive and much quieter. Breakfast was reasonable at 10 euros. The hotel was a great find.

Room tip: Avoid the rooms over reception. The rooms in the corridors are much quieter.
