“Never again”
Reviewed May 25, 2013 via mobile

The bartender was too busy chatting with another female standing next to us to even take a beer order. Additionally, this same female had a small child perched on a stool next to us. Who brings a four year old to the bar and then let's them kick the bar?
We ordered two different tapas and both were still cold in the center. This place features an 'upscale' tapa selection delivered with poor service and the same food preparation.

We'll never go back and suggest you avoid it.

“Late arrival”
Reviewed February 28, 2013

Even by Spanish standards, we arrived a little late to sample a few taps at lunchtime but to be greeted by a very sullen male employee insisting that we had less than 20 minutes to order, eat up and get out was hardly welcoming - it might have been better to tell us that they were closed. The food was adequate but nothing marvellous - we found a very much better place in the evening a few paces away.

“Hemingwayan”
Reviewed November 30, 2012

Order Callos de bacalao (Stckfish tripes) and calamares (squid), a beer and just let it go. The food is not the best experience there and you shouldn't go there if you look for a light, refreshing meal. The bartenders are a show of their own, and you may feel some of the atmosphere of the some of the most popular Hemingway's Sapnish novels....

“Delicious and friendly”
Reviewed November 3, 2012

We stopped here for a lunch of tapas. Husband and I tried nine different tapas getting one of each and splitting. They had a very good variety and all were very tasty several were ones we have never had before. The bar tender served us, he was very friendly and knew some English and some French. All in the nine tapas, one beer, one glass of wine, one cafe solo, and one cafe con leche came to 23 euros. Only regret is we leave tomorrow wish we would have found them yesterday. Would really recommend trying this place!

“Superb dining experience”
Reviewed September 15, 2012

We visited this place twice, once in the evening and again at lunchtime. On the first occasion it was at the busiest part of the evening but despite the staff rushing around to cope with the large number of customers, they were extremely welcoming and made us feel instantly at home. The selection of tapas and raciones is good with all items well prepared and presented. In particular we loved the albondigas (meatballs) served with an orange and cointreau jus - delicious! If your Spanish is not too hot ask them for an English menu. Dishes usually served hot are reheated then brought to your table. They also have daily specials on the boards and menu del dia (set meals for a fixed price).

Great selection of wines and beers too, including Aragon Cidre which is served by the 70cl bottle slotted into a head & torso statue of a man pouring a drink - as you press the button on the back the cidre is carbonated and poured into your glass. Lovely touch.

Definitely one to visit on more than one occasion.
