The basilica del Pilar is an attraction not to be missed. No entry fee to see some beautiful frescoes, a magnificent main altar carved in alabaster and a wonderful organ. If the museum is open stop by and admired all the jewels given to the patron. Light your candle and leave your prayers .....

We visited Zaragoza on the road to Valencia and we were positively surprized by the nice cathedral of the city. Both the view from outside as the inside are great. There is no entrance fee and a lot of cathedrals in Spain are more known but less impressive.

A visit worth when you are in the neigbourhood

The Basilica is Beautiful not only outside but inside as well. my only gripe is that you could not take photos inside the church, but being as they did not charge for entry that is perfectly fine.

Located in the principle square in the old part of town, it's roofline is hard to miss from a distance. At night, it is well lit and a delight to see together with the other floodlit buildings, fountains and pedestrian areas in the vicinity. By day, it is a busy place of worship. The Saturday we visited, there were many families attending religious rites for their kids - this was very noisy too! I found it interesting. It was free entry. All the candles were the electric faux flame style which I don't like. You can park underneath the square and the elevators bring you right outside the basilica.

The basilica looked really beautiful from the outside, from the bridges and the plaza however the interior was disappointing. Only probably half of the basilica was accessible and wasn't the nicest of them all
