“Great Hotel in Central Location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 27, 2011

We really liked this hotel - quick, easy checkin and checkout. Free internet (ask for the code at the front desk). Rooms were modern, clean and quiet.

One note - the street in front of the hotel is under construction (a new tram line is being built) so you cannot drive up to the hotel. Our taxi driver dropped us off about 1/2 block away. If you are driving, you should call in advance to see where to park.

This hotel is in the heart of the city - very close to the Pilar Basilica and the other sites to see in the historic district.

Stayed here one night on the way to Madrid, drove into town and the whole road has been dug up for works so you cannot drive there, we parked in a car park and walked there.
Hotel is nice but there seems to have been a bad plumbing problem because the whole hotel smelt of sewerage, even in the room.
The rooms were nice enough, great shower and would be a prime location of not for the roadworks, but because of the smell it gets a bad rating from me.

We stayed at this hotel for the Pilar 2011 festival.
We found the staff to be very helpful, even allowing us to borrow a plug adapter so we could charge our digital cameras battery in time for the festivities.
The buffet breakfast had excellent choice and was freshly prepared.
No complaints and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Zaragoza.

A new hotel and it shows (in a good way) - all modern and clean. I didn't like the design, but that's a matter of personal taste.
The location is superb - right at the center of town, but not in the noisy plaza, with convenient parking across the street.
Service was OK, and most people spoke passable English, but you learn not to expect much better in spain.
Food in the hotel restaurant was rather good as well.
A good experience all in all.

Absolutely loved this hotel. The only downside (minor) was that the hotel pool is small and very cold.

We loved this hotel, shame we only had one night there. If we go back to Zaragoza we will stay here again. The hotel is modern, clean, very comfortable & in a fantastic position, just round the corner from the street leading to the Basilica. We had a room looking over the street & didn't have any trouble with noise, although windows were closed & AC on. We didn't eat at the hotel as we found other places close by.
The staff were very friendly and parking is close by and at reduced rates in reserved bays.
There is a rooftop outdoor pool, but it is quite small and very busy in it and on the floor beside it - it was August though.
Zaragoza is a lovely city too, we were very impressed.

Hotel Alfonso is centrally located in Zaragoza, one block from the pedestrianized area that surrounds the Cathedral. Parking is very convenient and discounted for hotel guests. The reception staff were warm and welcoming, offering information on local points of interest. The hotel lobby is has a modern, stylish decor as did the room which was outstanding. We had an interior room that did not have a view, no matter as the room looked like a magazine spread. The bathroom was really beautiful as well. The roof of the hotel was an unexpected bonus; there are great views of the the cathedral and Zaragoza. The hotel was very reasonably priced. Overall a great place to stay, we would definitely return.
