The position seemed like a good idea when booking but: you cannot drive to the apartments which means you have to bring your luggage about 100 metres from the car park or Sauce Hotel which gives you the key.
The car park is tight to get in and out and it is a hassle as someone from the Sauce Hotel has to let you in and out each time and guides you in and out so you don't scrape your vehicle.
Whilst the room is centrally located and you have a view of the Cathedral, everyone on the street also has a view of you. The council empty the recycle bins at 2.00 am and other general noise can be heard.
The worst thing of all was that there was no hot water for a shower in the morning and there is no phone to ring anyone for help. You have to physically go to the Sauce Hotel 100 metres away.
All in all, it was a bad experience and I would not stay here again.

Dear friend from Australia,
We are really sorry because we could not fulfill your expectations.
Location of our apartments is a characteristic that all of our customers love and we apologize that it was uncomfortable for you.
Apartments Sabinas El Pilar is located in the centre of old town and most of this area has pedestrian streets.
We receive our customers in reception in Hotel Sauce where there is always a person, day and night. Here, we have the best facilities to discharge their luggage, park the car in parking and then access to apartments in one minute walking.
We feel lucky because we have private parking in the center of old town to offer our customers a better service. Most of hotels in old town just have a convention with public parking. We have both options, being private parking nearest option for Sabinas el Pilar Apartments. We are aware that private parking may be a little difficult. It's that the reason that we have our staff in your disposal to help you.
We apologize because we don't have telephone in apartments. This is because Sabinas Apartments and Hotel Sauce are two different and independent buildings. So we don't have possibility to be directly connected. But we are in reception 24 hours to resolve any problem.
In this case, you advised us because you had not hot water, and one person went immediately to check it and resolved it for you.

We spent 2 nights in Zaragoza at Sabinas. The location could NOT be better. you are literally right in front of the Cathedral and plaza. The price was affordable for high season. Check in is 4 blocks away at Hotel Sauce and since Sabinas is a former apartment building there are no services on site (you have to ask at Sauce). The rooms are a bit sparse and although some claim kitchens ours did not (although I think the prices are the same?). We did have a mini fridge. There was plenty of space in the sleeping area but the bathroom was tight. The shower was even smaller (you couldn't turn around) but over all it was fine. Zaragoza is not known for its luxury or big nightlife so think small town and less urban hip. great cafes and shopping nearby. Free wifi was a bit sketchy and weak, had to be reset a few times.

Room Tip: confirm with Hotel Sauce if you have a room with a kitchen and bath. remember there's no housekeeping, security, or food service on site (if that sort of thing is important to you). Some exterior rooms have views but they'll have issues with noise.

Dear guests from San Francisco,
Thank you so much for your priceless point of view about your experience with us. Thank you for the remark that in our Sabinas building you can either make a reservation of a room with bathroom or an apartment with bedroom, bathroom, living room and fully equipped kitchen. So we advice other travellers that may read these lines not to be confused and read carefully the descriptions on the different options before making your reservation online. There is also a difference on the price. Thank you for the clarification!
Kindest regards from all the Sabinas and Sauce team.
Isabel

We drove to Hotel Sauce to pick up our apartment keys & be guided to their privately operated car park opposite their Hotel. There was a 10 minute car park out the front of this hotel to drop off your cases & then be shown by a young lady to their car park. We drove down three very narrow twisting levels, all negotiated at slower than walking pace, more narrow than a normal public car park & on every bend there was a danger of scraping both sides of the car & the young lady walked in front of our car to assist with the many bends & stop other cars from coming up. The first space offered was so narrow that the driver could not exit. An alternative satisfactory space was offered. The car park costs 13 euro per day, upon reflection we would rather have parked our car in the public car park directly in front of the apartment & underneath Plaza Nuestra Senora del Pilar, which is a little more expensive at 20 euro/per day, but considering the 2000 euro for penalty for a scratch on your hire car the extra money is cheap insurance. The young lady then walked us back to our Attic Apartment which was only 100 meters away with superb views of the Basilica del Pilar . She didn’t know if the dishwasher or washing machine worked & in fact they didn’t. We felt this was very poor for quite a high class apartment. There was no kettle or toaster, so we went down the street to buy fresh bread/croissants each morning. The air-conditioner worked well as it was 30 degrees when we were there. The kitchen had a large fridge/freezer & cleaner comes every day & replaces all towels used. There was no English speaking TV channels like BBC World or CNN. This apartment is in a magical spot in which to visit most tourist things in the old centre.
We would certainly recommend this Attic Apartment but would not use their underground car park, instead use another public car park close by which would be easier to get in & out.

Dear Australian guests,
It is a shame that having so much trouble parking your car pales somewhat your opinion and your experience in our apartments. We always like to listen to our guests because the are the ones that best know what are our virtues and defects and help us improve everyday. There are other parking places on upper grounds, or the parking facility below Pilar Square. Our guest must come first to hotel Sauce where we give advice and directions about best parking choice depending on the type and size of your car. Washing machine works fine now, and we will consider equipping the kitchen with kettle and toaster. Thank you so much for contributing with your enriching point of view. Best regards from all the Sabinas and Sauce team,
Isabel

We stayed in the self-catering apartment. The location is excellent with nice views of the Cathedral from our room. It's clean, modern and comfortable. The only 'negative' aspect is the car park - very tight - and the 100m walk with cases from reception to the apartment, but overall for the price you pay this is an excellent option.

Dear Nick,
Thank you so much for your feedback. Yes, Sabinas El Pilar offers independence because it has no reception desk, but with all the services of a hotel, hotel Sauce, one block distance. That is why you first do the check in at the hotel and afterwards we help you and guide you to Sabinas El Pilar. This should not really be an inconvenience because it is an easy, short and accesible walk. Thank you for your valuable opinion! Best regards from all the Sabinas and Sauce team.

Dear guests from the UK,
Thank you for describing your personal experience in our hotel and apartments.
We are glad you pointed out the warm welcoming and professional assistance of our staff.
Thank you also for your headline, we think it is the perfect slogan for our business :-)
We know that British guests love breakfast, and we agree with them, you need to eat a strengthener breakfast to fuel up for the rest of the day :-)
Just inform the travelers that our breakfast takes place al Hotel Sauce cafeteria.
Thank you so much for your kindness!
Best regards from Zaragoza from all the team.
Isabel
