From starter to dessert, everything was amazing ! Some may say that the lunchtime menu of the day is limited (you can choose from 4 different starters, 4 main courses and 3 desserts), but they offer fresh and high quality products at a very reasonable price ! Furthermore, the menu changes every week !! They are very creative and offer original combinations (ex. a lasagna with spinach, apple, goat cheese and sliced almonds on top)...and yes, as some others have said: dessert was to die for ! And the team was really kind ! I highly recommend the place (even if you're not a vegetarian) !

So you came to Spain, Zaragoza, to check out el Pilar, and taste some great Spanish food. Yes, after some tapas and other deep fried selection you will want a healthier and tastier break in a few days.
PICK BAOBAB!
Located close to Plaza San Francisco, it is an oasis for all of your senses.... and your wallet.
A clean (almost Canadian) interior with warm and helpful staff will put you at ease in front of a nicely balanced menu of choices. If you speak Spanish, do ask for staff suggestions: they are very helpful and some even speak English. If they tell you "that will be too much food", do listen, because vegetarian does not mean skimpy.
While the wine choices are very few (in Spain I would certainly expect more, especially around this amazing taste sensation of a menu) the food quality and taste are incredible. Made with fresh ingredients, many of which are local, the pieces of art that are offered to you are exquisit. Just because you may think you do not like egg-plant, you may be forced to reconsider.
Once you are on the edge of exploding after your main course, do force yourself to sample some of their deserts. In the end, it will round off your perfect evening, especially if you cap it off with a chupito (a little shot of liqueur) or a coffee.
And brace yourself: the bill will indeed come. But fear not: after a number of such flavorful encounters, my bill has always been just another pleasant and surprising addition to my dinner experience.
Highly recommended restaurant for a couple, romantic dinner, or a medium-noisy group of friends.
It is definitely top 3 for me in town (would be number 2 if I could bring my own bottle of wine!)

Exceptionally good vegetarian food which would stand up in any City. Service was excellent and friendly at this large restaurant near the University. The lunchtime menu of the day has good choices for all courses, whilst the full menu has a good selection too. It's not so cheap in the evening; but still well worth it.

Very close to the Plaza San Francisco tram stop, so now easier to get to too!

Very creative and tasty vegetarian food at a reasonable price. Service could have been a tad more attentive as we had to call for attention (albeit the orders came quickly). The house recommended wine (limited selection) was not that good but other selections are fine

Baobab's clean, fresh, modern interior design echoes its delicious cuisine, which is largely organic and locally sourced. I went for lunch and had the set menu, which was a bargain at 15Euros- 3 courses and a glass of wine or beer. Service was excellent and friendly, despite the restaurant being nearly full- not bad for lunchtime on a Thursday in late August.
