My wife and I were looking for a hotel en route from Barcelona to Madrid and found this hotel at a great location, just off A-2 that takes travellers to Madrid, and at a great price. I would describe the hotel outside of the room as a no-frills business hotel, but it packed a lot of punch for the price. Free parking was available just outside the entry of the hotel, there was a complimentary Wifi workstation with a printer, and a good breakfast. The room was a good size and well-apointed. The bathroom was certainly the highlight. Also, it is located near a large shopping centre called Plaza Imperial, which had good shopping, eating, and movie options. Fit out needs just right.

I stayed at Hotel Diagonal for a night while on a business trip. It is only really suitable for business travelers, or as a stop off while driving through Spain, mainly as there is not a lot to do in the nearby area.

The hotel building looks new, and seems to be part of the new development in the business park area as there is still some construction going on nearby. This didn't affect us - we didn't hear any noise.

The bedroom and bathroom were both a good size, and had everything you would expect of a 4 star hotel. The furnishings are all new and modern. The air conditioning in the room was effective and quiet. The bed was provided with sheets only, but there were thin duvets in the wardrobe that could be clipped together if you wanted more than one. The shower was in a separate cubicle and was powerful, although it did have a few times alternating between hot and cold.

We ate in the bar area during the evening and the food was ok but a bit average. The service was quite poor, we had to keep reminding the waiter we were there.

Breakfast was fine with a good selection, although again service was a bit disorganised with lots of things running out and not being replaced without prompting.

My main issue with this hotel is that it is just too modern and contemporary in its style. It gives it a really cold and sterile atmosphere which doesn't make it enjoyable. The room has zero character, no art on the walls, and all monochrome colours. The bathroom has an awkward clear glass wall/door in the middle which doesn't seem to have any purpose and just makes it difficult to get to the shower and toilet. The main area is all open and lofty with an indoor courtyard - the rooms all look over the courtyard. You can see everything - even the lifts are see through. It is a bit off-putting. There is a bit of attempt at character on the ground floor with some artwork however it is truly awful - giant portraits of men's faces all in grey colours making them look like corpses plus the expressions are horrible. Not really what you want to look at while sitting in the bar!

I suppose this clinical, slightly creepy style might appeal to some people but not me! I wouldn't stay here again unless I had to.

We stopped here for one night on our way back from England . The receptionist spoke very good English and was pleasant and helpful. The room was plenty big enough with good air conditioning and although next to a lorry park we slept well. Breakfast was average and dinner was good value for money. Dogs allowed.
At 36 Euro for the room would definitely stay again but would not stop again in Zaragoza in August, the heat was stifling even at 10pm!!

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are quieter as there is a lorry park at the front.

We stopped here for lunch on our way to Madrid. This place is trying to be a cutting edge, minimalist style hotel but I don't think its working. The paving is really shoddy as you enter and overall you can tell that the budget for construction didn't match the intent. Lunch was ok but the atmosphere was really sterile with very high ceilings and fluorescent lighting which made you feel you were in a warehouse. The lobby has this area with white marble chips which looks like the materials you'd use in a tacky miniature golf course.

We stopped over for one night at this hotel on our drive down from France to Spain. We normally stop at the holiday inn express in Pamploma which we like. This time we hit the running of the bulls so no availability.
We decided to drive on to Zaragoza and arrived at this 4 star hotel. The cost was good with a smart deal and included a pretty fair breakfast. The room was large good bathroom and a good bed. No view from the window but we did not care. The wifi was not good in the bedroom which was disappointing.
We booked and paid the 6 euros for secure parking in a huge underground car park and shared it with one other car. There is free unsecure parking outside but we had some stuff that we did not want to leave outside in the considerable heat so it was a good choice for us.

The hotel is newish in a new area very near to a shopping centre which had food outlets, we did not try any of these. We missed the restaurant in the hotel so cannot comment there.
The helpful receptionist did send our pizza order out and we charged this to our bill, this service was very good as were the pizzas and beer.

The hotel is a little soulless with no pictures in the rooms or the corridors but hey who really cares as we got what we paid for a good nights sleep in a comfortable room with amenity kits , breakfast , good parking and all at a very good price.

Room Tip: difficult as we really only paid attention to the one we stayed in.

We found the Diagonal Plaza using Trip Advisor and it was perfect for our needs. The hotel is just off the motorway. The receptionist was efficient and pleasant.
The room exceeded our expectations. Large, modern, uber clean. Massive comfy bed and a bathroom to die for after a hot journey.
We ate at the local shopping centre a few minutes away and filled up with cheap petrol there too!
So all in all. Perfecto!
Amazing price for the comfort you get.

Room Tip: I think they are identical. We stayed in 212 which overlooked where our car was parked
