Description: Located on the Calle Gerona, El Rinconcillo has been serving up Spanish cuisine in Seville since 1760. This historic restaurant boasts a rustic-chic dining room that is dressed up in cosmopolitan clothes. With understated whitewashed brick walls, beamed ceilings, chandeliers and fresh flower arrangements, El Rinconcillo attracts everybody from local celebrities to families who come to enjoy traditional tapas and Sunday meals, and the mosaic-tiled bar with wine barrel tables is perfect for pre-dinner drinks and mid-afternoon glasses of wine. The menu is an eclectic collection of tapas dishes, stews, seafood, meat and sweet flans for dessert, and you couldnt find a more quintessentially Spanish eatery in Seville if you tried.

“Totally disappointing”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 9, 2013

Swayed by a recommendation by Aoife O'Riordain in a travel article about Seville, we decided we must visit this tapas bar on a recent visit. What a disappointment. The food, we have to say, was excellent. We had gazpacho and clams. The service, however, was surly, rude, dismissive and made us feel that we were in the way. I find it hard to believe the reviews which state the staff were helpful and welcoming. On asking for wine, we were given no choice. The house rioja was slapped on the table, as were the water bottles and glasses. The whole attitude was "take it or leave it". We also noted that this only applied to British clients, not Spanish ones who were welcomed. Instead of leaving no tip at all, we left one eurocent as we felt this more adequately expressed our opinion. We will not be returning.

“our favorite Bar in Sevilla”

What a fantastic bar with great atmosphere, can't find words good enough to describe the place. You simply need to experience the place. It became our regular place during our stay in lovely Sevilla.

“Established 1670 and still going strong”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 30, 2013

Spain’s main contribution to the international food scene is definitely tapas and you can find a tapas bar on every Spanish street corner. Quality differs of course and we went to El Rinconcillio after a recommendation from our hotel. This tapas place has been serving hungry guests for more than 340 years (!) and they know what they are doing. We were greeted by a friendly waiter who gave us tasty recommendations and attentive service. The spinach tapas (a speciality) is the best spinach dish any of us has ever tasted. We had a late lunch but this place can be visited from morning till the late hours. Highly recommended!

Food was Soso. Service was Soso. Inside was Soso. But was opened in 1670 now that's cool. Go for a drink to say ya been.

“Authentic Sevilla experience! Wonderful!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 25, 2013 via mobile

Visited El Rinconcillo twice last week and I was most impressed. Fair enough, it might not be an innovator in dreaming up new twists on tapas BUT this is as real as it gets from my 3 day tour of Seville tapas bars.
The food was excellent - pork cheeks in sauce was a killer!
The staff were really helpful and welcoming and the ambience was wow, the place looks its age and this is one of the key factors in the overall experience.
If in Seville, don't miss this place!
