Booked for 9 of us for a 50th on the 15th June. We asked to eat outside & although the restaurant was virtually empty we were directected to a table away from the river. I asked could they not make the table up for us at the side of the river but was told that it wasn't possible, even though no one else was sat there. As it was a friends celebration I didn't want to be too negative, had read some shocking reviews & decided I would be subjective on writing a review, However, it was the worst dining experience I have ever had & this was mainly down to the food. We all skipped the starter as it was a very limited selection and there wasn't anything on that section of the menu that appealed to any one of the 9 of us. Two of our party had the paella - served 10 minutes before anyone else got anything - 2 prawns - 1 each & 4 cockles - no fish in the rice & a really small portion for each when split. The two people who ordered the oxtail said it was passable but didn't fall off the bone enough.. but it was the 4 of us who ordered the tenderloin beef that were most disappointed - it arrived about 15 minutes after the oxtail & was the most disappointing meal I have ever eaten. In fact I couldn't eat it as it was virtually physically impossible to eat. 3 medium 1 well done - all arrived raw - usually no problem but the meat was so tough it was difficult to cut through and was just like muscle - the kind of meat that you would need to braise for hours to make it edible. I was starving and really looking forward to it but had to leave it - the roast potatoes that accompanied it were new potatoes - fried & served with no veg or sauce. Really really bad. The young waiter - that's how it got one star, tried his best & took our photo & the manager let us have a bottle of wine for free for the delay in the meal being served & our drinks not turning up. As i said the restaurant wasn't busy.. but forget the service it is the bad food that makes this place stand out. Not enough to be a restaurant & depend on the location - this needs to be backed up,firstly be the food & secondly by the service. Sorry to give such a scathing review but truly truly awful and for once all the negative reviews on here are right. Avoid.

We as a family were positively expectant upon arriving at Rio Grande restaurant. We sat on tue Terrace because because of the view which is about the only thing that was OK about our whole experience. The service was extremely slow. The slowest we have had since I can remember. Then the fools was absolutely disgusting! The worst part was that the manager that was attending us was totally unapologetic! Even worse it was extremely expensive. Do not go to to Rio Grande. It was the worse restaurant we tried in Seville!

Largely ignored across the night, the shift manager Miguel deliberately turned his head from the table when we tried to get his attention and the team were massively understaffed, unable to attract any attention. Miguel actually argued with my group when we complained and stormed off, not resolving any issue at all.
The food actually came out wrong and it took us over 20 minutes to get our bill. Go anywhere else other than here - this place was a joke.

Found ourselves a table which the waiter cleaned for us which was good start against the river side wall. Though the restaurant only had a few covers on the go we had to call out to get out drinks order going and then went to the bar to pay the bill due to absence of staff to call. Great setting but like many others before me on trip adviser the service is wanting a lot of improvements. It was also armed forces day whilst we were there who were setting up a zip wire over the river at the time via the restaurant fence but whilst we were sitting there the forces broke an old lamp above our heads but the staff we not interested in our safety. Suggest there are many other good restaurants in town so maybe give this one a wide berth.

Hope this helped, if so please like.
