This hotel located in the Santa Cruz neighborhood has a charming courtyard where breakfast is served including eggs and bacon cooked on the spot. Great location in the old town with small winding coble streets and close to the Cathedral, Alcazar and reastaurants. Staff is always welcoming and helpful. The free water was really nice given the very hot temperature! Note that there's no fridge in the rooms.
Some minor negatives, sometimes it can be noisy in the mornings especially if the room is on the street side. Bed was not the most comfortable and water pressure in the shower was pretty bad. Note that taxis cannot get close to the hotel so you will have to make your way to it on foot for a gew blocks.
Overall it was a nice relaxing stay for a great value. I would stay here again.

This small hotel is perfectly situated in the old part of town and so you feel part of the city immediately, ready to stride out and explore. The main thing I loved was breakfast, taken in a tranquil courtyard: a leisurely affair with plenty of choice (including barbecued eggs and bacon) and no-one ushering you out before you are ready. In fact the courtyard became a haven of tranquility and a welcome respite from the searing heat. There is plenty of free bottled water; free use of bikes and free tours on offer. What is there not to like? The bedrooms are small, but they are clean and comfortable - and who wants to spend time in a room when Seville is out there to enjoy? The staff is friendly and courteous and we were sad to leave without having eaten at the restaurant or made use of the jacuzzi. Next time perhaps. I would love to return. My friends and I felt that the El Rey Moro was a home from home. Superb.

Room Tip: A room overlooking the courtyard.

We had an excellent stay at the El Rey Moro with only a few small negatives.

On the pluses
- it is exceptionally well located with easy walk to Cathedral, Alcazar and heaps of great restaurants, shopping and sights. Hard to imagine a better location.
- they loan free bikes for guests, perfect for cruising around this very bike-friendly city!
- reasonable buffet breakfast included in a very cute courtyard
- superb rooms with effective air conditioning and great toiletries provided. Our room (no. 16) was dead quiet and was excellently cleaned by the service staff.
- beautiful little courtyard and very friendly front reception service (English absolutely no problems).

The downsides for us:
- the bed - ours was far too soft and felt saggy towards the middle. We didn't sleep well as a result, despite the rest of the room being excellent. Other rooms probably don't have this issue.
- the internet, whilst include free, was impossibly slow for the most part (we were trying to get some work done during our stay)

Overall, we thought it was great value for money and were very happy with our stay.

A pretty boutique hotel with a great location. Our room was very small and claustrophobic. It was located next to the the stairs with a very small window so if you had the window open you would hear all the stair traffic without any privacy. The room was clean but the wifi didn't always work. The breakfast appeared well presented but they always seemed to run out of items and didn't always replace them. The staff were always very helpful. Make sure you get your bearings when heading out otherwise it could take you a little bit longer to get back to your hotel what with the narrow laneways. If you are getting a taxi to the hotel it will drop you off about 5 mins away from the hotel as it's unable to access the narrow lanes.

Room Tip: Always check whilst making booking that you ask the location of the room otherwise you could get one...

I stayed in the economic single room #23. The decoration is nice, but it's tiny, not a courtyard facing room, and a little noisy. The wifi didn't work in that room. I'd choose a different room next time. The hotel itself is great. It is in the Santa Cruz neighborhood, close to the Cathedral, Alcazar, Plaza de Espana, and many other sights in Seville. The front desk staff was friendly, always smiling, making we feel welcome. There was a complimentary bottle of water in the room. It was easy to go to the Seville airport after check-out, as the El Prado Bus Station is in a 10 min walk from the hotel, and the bus stop to the airport was just opposite El Prado.

We stayed here in 2011 and rarely go back to the same hotel twice as we like to explore different area but when we decided to stop in Sevilla again, we couldn't resist one more stay at El Rey Moro. It's lovely, in a perfect location, deep inside the Barrio de Santa Cruz. Unfortunately our room was not great this time and we tried to change it but no other rooms were available. None the less, we got good sleep when needed and it was safe and secure. the courtyard is amazing and the breakfast is good. Free water and free WIFI help you feel at home. When you leave to explore the old town and the rest of Sevilla, don't bother using a map - get lost instead! Walk around and savour and enjoy being in this great city. The alley ways and small courtyards are great to explore. Artists everywhere, amazing culture and lovely food and red wine of course. The hotel has a restaurant that we did not use so I can't comment on it. really lovely place though with very helpful staff on reception and covering breakfasts. try to upgrade/book a big room as they are beautiful and our room was small and not great on this occasion. None the less, we love this hotel!

We loved this hotel - great find in the Barrio Santa Cruz! We had a very warm greeting when we arrived and reception staff were very friendly and offered information on places to go and see. The rooms are based around a middle patio where breakfast is served in the morning. All rooms are provided with a bottle of water and there is also extra water available on each floor which is a great little extra to have.
If you are arriving by taxi, tell the driver to drop you off at Alfaro Square, just near Santa Cruz Square and then you have to walk down a couple of little alley ways to get to the hotel.
I loved the way the hotel is nestled amongst little bars and restaurants all serving a wide array of tapas - the atmosphere is surreal here.
Would certainly stay here again!
