Original and modern place to spend time in the evenings. Well illuminated after sunset, it deserves a visit. Very close to the main streets.

The "mushroom" like structure is unique and very interesting. It is purported to be the largest wooden structure in the world. It is nice to stroll around or to take some nice photos. There is a market "Mercado De La Encarnacion" on the basement. You can buy fruits and vegetables there.

This is a large plaza underneath the unusual and polarizing "mushroom" urban art installation. Interesting, but not a lot to see here. The mushrooms are controversial (see separate review). The plaza is built on the site of an historic city market that was torn down to build an unpopular parking structure that never got built. Part of the reason it didn't get built was that crews excavating for it found important ruins of ancient cultures buried here. Those can be seen separately now, as archaeologists swooped in and took charge of the area. The mushroom sculpture was the result of a design contest to figure out what to do with the otherwise wasted space above the digs.

This unusual structure seems out of place at first, but actually blends in with the much older surroundings of the old town of Seville.
It is a favorite place for locals to go for a stroll or to hang out, especially after dark. It is probably best to go after dark, as the structure is beautifully lit and the night vistas of Seville are terrific.

My husband and I just happened upon this interest in structure. I would not go out of my way to see it but if you are in the area most definitely take a look. It is near many shops and restaurants. And a garment district.
