“worth the wander”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 3, 2013

I had read about this place in a magazine and it was definitely worth wandering through the maze
of sevillian streets to find it. There were three musicians and one dancer commanding the stage. As well as an artist painting some lovely flamenco dancers. I would much rather see flamenco here than in the many shows advertised in souvenir shops across the city.

“The best things in life are free”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 29, 2013

The only way to watch Flameco in the heart of Seville. Raw, local, sweaty. Come early to get a good seat, order a bottle of tempranillo and enjoy the energy of the crowd, the performers and the bar in general. Admire the paintings on the walls... Post show, stay back for flamenco unplugged if you're lucky in the adjoining room(this may have been a weekend feature). La Carboneria is located in the alley ways of the Barrio De Santa Cruz. If you're lucky to locate it, you'd have enjoyed the soul of flamenco...for the price of... perseverance. .

“fun place to go”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 25, 2013

in this bar you can find live flamengo and music and the best thing is that it's free. the inside is a bit shabby still the atmosphere is great. drinks are a bit expensive and the sangria served in that place is disgusting. still i would fo there again but will opt for a glass of wine instead.

“Good hang out place”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 14, 2013 via mobile

My husband and I went to La Carboneria during our first night stay in Sevilla. This place is as simple as simple can be. Nothing fancy, but it gets very busy and lots of visitors. They offer two different schedules for free Flamenco. Of course, since its free, the show is nothing out of this world, but nice enough to enjoy a bottle of wine and tapas. I recomend showing up a half hour before the show, as it gets crowed. If you have a tight budget and can not afford at least 35? p/p for a Flamenco show, go here and get a little taste of Flamenco.

“Yep... Baby in a bar at La Carboneria”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2013

We searched high and low for a venue where our dance-loving toddler could see some Flamenco. Seriously, she's fanatical about dancing. No one would let us take a toddler into the performances. So, I asked a friend that used to live in Seville and she recommended La Carboneria.

It took some game time napping, but we made the 1st late night performance. There were rows of sweaty Flamenco-seeking people packed like sardines. The air was humid and the fluorescent lighting unflattering to those who had been partying the night away. It. Was. Awesome. Our toddler loved every minute of it and afterwards the dancer kindly granted us an audience. I know we had a baby in a bar, but desperate times call for desperate measures, people. Also, there were a few other children in the audience as well, and they enjoyed the performance just as much as the adults.

Highly recommended.

Also, the gin & tonics are quite good. I think the bartender was a bit generous with my gin as he could see my husband was pushing the stroller home.
